What’s the quality like KM? £12 is ridiculous!

I’m usually dead against copies - I just like the real deal.  Completely get why people buy copies now though.  Especially when they are a) £85 for an England shirt or b) the original (hi ONeills 👋🏼) is such shite quality that the copy is probably better!

I'm also normally against buying copies/replicas of things, but the club left me no other option if I wanted to buy my kids the black and pink shirts. Shirts, shorts, name & number printing, was a total of £28.30 for both. Quality was/is more than fine for the kids.

Fresh out of the packet that morning (hence the creases on my daughters sleeves/shorts)...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I am looking to buy the new England away shirt but I'm not going to spend £85.

I looked through this thread and saw DHGate recommended but whenever I go on their site, it is completely empty, and all of the ebay listings linked have been taken down.

Does anyone have any up to date suggestions or links?

    Thanks

Due to our clubs inept stocking through the season, I used this site to get my kids City shirts.

Can't be many thicker people than that Essex lad.

I personally think you underestimate. Apart from sounding thick, I'd say he displayed pretty typical behaviours from a lot of people these days. The end of the programme when he was saying how proud he was of standing on the bus, and how the photo will be shown to his children etc. Summed it all up for me. No respect, and totally entitled & oblivious.

I thought Adam Norris’s Pensions Direct was already a business and was then acquired by HL and that’s how he joined them?

That's not my understanding, although 'happy to be proved wrong as it was a long time ago and my memory isn't as good as it used to be!

IIRC, Adam was appointed to the board circa 98, after introducing SL & PH to his idea of people managing their own pensions. That idea was given the name 'Pensions Direct' in 99, and Adam grew it. The Pensions direct platform name was eventually dropped, as the term SIPP became widely know, and the HL SIPP was adopted/born I think in 2002ish.

His Dad Adam, the owner of Pure Scooters, ultimately made his 'big' money via the success of Hargreaves Lansdown.

Adam was brought in by SL and PH to set-up 'Pensions Direct', in 1999, the self serve pension arm of HL which later became known as the SIPP. Once that had grown he then took over the advisory offering at HL. IMO, he earned every penny of his money at HL, and was/is one of the main reasons to their vast success.

He left in 2008 after they had floated, the same year I left HL... sadly I didn't leave with anywhere near as much money though! :D

Re Lando's success, it was lovely to see Adam being interviewed on Sky Sports F1 after the race, to see/hear his utter emotional joy.

I was watching it at the end and it certainly looked like a bit of bidding fever going on.

There had to be at least two people who were desperate to get it, to be able to push the price that high.

Wonder if there’s someone thinking ‘what the hell have I done’, when they woke up this morning.  Being super-competitive, or prone to getting bidding fever are the two most dangerous things in an auction.

I doubt there will be any buyers remorse unless they stumble across this thread and see they've very likely bought a ringer.

Bidding history below. It looks like 5 people on the final day went up agasint each other, with the eventual winner coming in at around £183, and manually upping their bid several times against the others...

Well, that certainly caused some interest and a bit of a feeding frenzy.  Final price of £454.00!!!

Such a shame that somebody out there, IMO, has been ripped off by a false description.

Just to show my thinking that this shirt is from the 1984/85 season, not the 1985/86 season, I dug out the team photos from the 2x seasons.

Note the position of the B.C 82 badge. In the 1984/85 season the B.C. 82 is stamped inline with the T in Hirerite (just like the bay shirt). In 1985/86 the B.C. 82 was stamped inline with the outside edge of the last E in Hirerite.

To clarify, my point was that “technically” as he’s being paid his current contractual wage until it expires (as is normal for football managers when sacked unless they get another job at a higher or equal salary), he’s still bound by the terms of his prior contract, so my use of NDA was more around he’s being paid as if he’s an employee - so as you say, he can’t speak negatively about the club.

My gut is that in view of the time left on contract (c9 months) and Nige being in relatively poor health at the time (so unlikely to get a new job for a period), he’s likely to still be on the payroll as opposed to coming to any kind of severance in order to have the guaranteed income - and at the end of the contract, other than commercially sensitive information, all bets are off.

My understanding is Nige wasn't put on Gardening Leave until the end of his contract, he was sacked. So, in employment law, if you sack somebody then the terms of their original contract are null & void because there isn't an employment contract bind.

Any 'notice period' payment Nige currently has will highly likely be part of a brand new compromise/settlement agreement. A compromise/settlement agreement fully supersedes any original contract of employment. It is also likely that there will be other financial benefits in return for his 'silence', although it won't be explicitly stated in that way.

My guess is that the NDA may run until the end of his contract as a minimum. Working this logically, managers if sacked still get paid until their contract cessation in football so I’d imagine if Nige says anything before June 30th (assuming that’s when his contract ends) there may be repercussions.

It's nothing to do with a NDA, Nige will likely be under terms defined in his Compromise/Settlement agreement.

Lansdown is too shred a man to allow any sacked employee to speak ill of him/BCFC etc over any period of time. As part of Nige's severance, in the agreement there would have been clauses to say that he is not able to speak negatively about BCFC and its employees, else they can seek damages and the return of any settlement figure given.

IMO, anyone expecting this to be a BCFC slagging match, is going to be highly disappointed.

That is... unless Nige didn't agree to any sort of financial severance, nor sign any financial compensation package. If he didn't, then it could be guns loaded and ships ahoy....

If you expand the photo showing the number 4, you can see it's hand stitched and not on straight. The last bit was common back then though.

I collect City shirts and IMO it's certainly not a shirt which was worn or taken to Wembley in 1986. IMO it's not even a shirt from the 1985/86 season!

The 1986 wembley shirt was totally unique, and printed for the occasion. The logos, printing, badges were different sizes to the regular season shirts, and totally unique to that day.

The main shirt style was used from Dec 1983 through to the end of the 1985/86 season (it was replaced in July/Aug 86 by a shirt which brought back the robin, and was in used for just 6mths at the very start of the 86/87 season, then the white band shirt was introduced in Dec '86), so it crossed several seasons, but there were subtle differences...

Player shirts (excluding the goalkeeper) from Dec 83 onwards in the 83/84 season, and also in the full 1984/85 season, had the B.C. 82 stamped inline with the T in Hirerite. In 1985/86 the B.C. 82 was stamped inline with the outside edge of the last E in Hirerite. Extra nerd points, but in the 85/86 season the player shirts also had a mix of old and new Bukta logos.

The number on this specific eBay shirt is machine stitched, not hand-stitched as being suggested here, see below. In 1985/86 all player numbers were pressed on, along with badges, sponsors and logos.

If this is a players shirt, then there is a chance it something from the 83/84 or 84/85 season, but if I were a betting man then this is a replica 84/85 shirt with a number which has been put on ad-hoc with a sewing machine by somebody.

  11. Another example of a great manager, who crucially wasn't financially backed, and met their demise in an unfair fashion.

I often wonder where we might have been if he'd had the financial backing he was promised, and his 'straightforward' personality was accepted.

I was wondering if anyone had used this service recently?

I bought two items as a gift (picture frame and gym bag) yesterday lunchtime, I was going to get them posted to me but  paying £5.67 P&P compared to collecting for free seemed a no brainer - especially with a discount voucher the total bill for the items for was only £11.40

What I didn't expect was the time I may have to wait to collect my items

I note on my receipt email that I have to await a second email from the club confirming my items are ready to collect

The stumbling block, not living local to the ground and tomorrow being the last game I can get to this season.

I would like to assume as the items were showing as in stock this means that they are actually in the shop and just needs someone to take them off a shelf and put aside for me?

But I was wondering if anyone had any experience of how long this process will take as if not ready by tomorrow it will create a needless problem

    1. The Shop stock (and availability) is different & separate to online stock (and availability).
    2. All online orders are processed and fulfilled at Huboo warehouse, not the shop.
    3. You are unable to buy anything from the shop over the phone and have it dispatched to you.
    4. You are unable to reserve anything in the shop over the phone.
    5. Getting somebody to answer the phone in-store is nigh on impossible.
    6. Online orders cannot have personalisation (names/numbers) because online orders are processed at Huboo which has no printing facilities, and all stock can't be unwrapped during processing.
    7. Click and collect isn't processed in-store, it's processed at Huboo and sent to the club shop for collection.
    8. The shop staff have zero view of Huboo stock levels, and vice versa.

    A complete & utter joke.

I don't care if I get shot down, that's fine, but I am sick of the negativity towards Tinnion.

I love the guy.  Pure and simple, he's a city legend and was in the team for my first four years as a fan and had a left peg I absolutely worshipped.

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about his football legacy, I think it's cruel and unfair the way he's treated on here, quite often as a figure of fun and with his intelligence and communication skills being mocked and belittled, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

He's not our enemy, he's our ambassador, he's a man who's gave most of his working career to our club, even though being a Geordie and having no previous affinity to the club.

We know he's not the best fit for the job he currently has, but he had the ambition to go for it, the same as his stint as a manager, he wasn't up to speed, but he had the ambition and drive to go for it.  I respect and love that.

It's not his fault if he's not right for the job, it's up the people above him if they feel he should be replaced.

Personally, I want him in charge of the academy, that's his best fit and hopefully he will be back there sometime in the future - back within his comfort zone.

But in the meantime, he will definitely be giving everything to the club and deserves much more respect and our support.

You don't have to love Pearson and hate Brian, you can appreciate them both!

And even though I don't agree with Manning being our gaffer, I can see the reasons why he was recruited.
