After todays “performance” the stats now read -
Played = 21
Won = 6
Drew = 5
Lost = 10
Points per game = 1.09
Over a 46 game seasons that’s 50 points and relegation.
Win percentage = 28%
Summary
Top 6 squad (so were told) playing bottom 6 (possible relegation) football
Manning is doing better than I expected. Perhaps the Lansdowns are thinking the same.

I'm going to say not sack for now..but I dunno if I can fully buy-in on back either.
As I think the issues lie higher. In particular the structure of Tinnion, Jon Lansdown and Marshall and anyone else I may have forgotten about, Steve seems to have taken a backseat?
Even with a front seat, Steve is taking us nowhere

As much as I'm undecided on him, it's not fair to label him as bad as Dion-key just yet, especially on tonight's showing where it looks like we could have a full team of Dion-keys!!
Fair point

Quick poll.
Does anyone think that Cornick shouldn't be subbed at half-time?
There have been better players sold at half time. Cornick is showing he is as bad as Diony. The whole team are dreadful tonight though.

Yep, he’s getting better and better. Excellent performance today.
I have been his biggest critic but today he did very well and proved he can be a decent player.

Thought Tanner was fantastic today in dealing with Brereton Diaz. Rarely got beat and was aggressive and tight to him.
Bell has to start next game over Sykes. Sykes had some nice touches but thought he was poor again and doesn't get at his man enough.
Agree, I thought Tanner did well.

The class players always stand out by a mile .
in my time cheesley, Cole , caulker , Hartley , Webster , Then the next level tinnion , Murray , Loved Agostino
If only we had a Gerry Gow now, fabulous midfielder but he would probably not fit the soft rules that the game have now.

Portugal, Argentina and now England on the end of multiple dubious referee decisions this weekend.... Can it really be a coincidence?
A corrupt country hosting a corrupt organised competition, anything can happen

Sorry Dave but that midfield plus Massengo is one of the reasons why we are shedding so many goals.
Alec Scott is the exception in that he does do his share of defending but he should be the fourth attacker, from midfield.
The other three are almost useless as defenders, especially the two wing backs. Apart from Naismith's clangers, the back three do a reasonably good job but they are all left with a huge defensive problem by the midfield in front of them.
We need to play with two full backs who can attack rather than two attackers who are not very good at defending.
Plus a keeper who can deal with crosses in the six yard area!
Your last sentence is spot on.

Well if the 2nd was Bentley's fault then he was at fault for all 3. Came off his line with no conviction for the 1st but routed to the line for the 3rd. With 2 decent keepers in reserve, it seems like he needs a rest to me.
I would say he needs more than a rest. Bentley is vastly overrated IMO. I also believe he has poor defenders in front of him but a lot of goals conceded are preventable if we had a keeper that is better than Bentley. Doing star jumps and punching the ball with both fists don’t do it for me, commanding the area and catching the ball is a better attribute in my book.

IMO Bentley is an average goalkeeper.

A decent goalkeeper would have saved that header.

True. However, it’s good we’re acc giving teams a proper game now. We had spells in that game where we was all over Norwich. Last season we wouldn’t of had a sniff all game. Our record at home is decent tho. Isn’t it 3 clean sheets in a row?
Agree, 3 clean sheets is definitely a positive and great to see an attacking attitude, but we must reduce the amount of goals we concede as it is putting extra pressure on our strikers.

Can't believe we came away from this one without a point. But for 2 gifted goals and yet another penalty not given in the 1st half it could have been a different story.
Can't believe they kept giving Mark Sykes so much room on the right.
We really need to get a grip of these Naismith errors though as it is costing us matches. He's such a good player but needs to learn when he needs to play safe.
If we can keep this up all season, we have to be looking at a top 6 finish, surely.
1 in 3 games we have conceded 3 goals, that is a poor ratio. We must improve the defending if we have ambitions of a top 6 finish.

We are like the Harlem Globetrotters! Its great watching us go forward but we could have easily conceded 5 at the other end.
This is the most exciting attacking football we've produced in nearly 5 years.
If Naismith can cut the errors out then you just never know!
Naismith is not the only liability at the back.
I agree, going forward we look good.

Glad to hear this Dave . Jason seems to come with a lot of pedigree . Our movement up top is quality
I think you may be right. I see Jason Ewell very active in the technical area. It could be Jason having a big impact on Conway and Wells performance of late.

Tommy looks class, he is quick, strong and a menace for any defence. I think he has a bright future.
-
It is not just his distribution letting him down. He does star jumps on crosses rather than commanding his area and most cross shots from both left and right tends to go past him.
Overrated IMO.

Think it says more about our full backs and midfielders that Pearson would rather have a cb take them
Then why not employ defenders and midfielders who can deliver corners

Point 6. Bentley is vastly overrated. Could have done much better for every goal (including the one that through his legs)
Bentley is definitely overrated.

Very poor by Zak to let Simms cut back inside, but his defensive display first half was very good. He bailed out Naismith twice.
But he’s the scapegoat?
For me, he is not the scapegoat but has been one of our poorest performers in recent times.

One good game. One bad game. Otib always consistent.
I was not there today, so I can’t be too critical. What stands out for me is that we have lost 2 games from being in front in both games.

I saw it basically same as OP. Dasilva wasn’t as sharp as he looked pre season. They also seemed to target him. If in trouble the ball was long and high in his direction.
Williams was my pick of the two in midfield but both did well. Scott was classy at times. Needs to affect games more than he did today though.
Weimann was terrific. Conway has something about him just needs more minutes. Martin was fine. Thought first half pretty good. Much less effective second half imo. Thought we could have used more pace and movement. For me, while he did not do much wrong, he limits how we play out and press.
The back 3 were pretty good. Some rust from both the wider players. Naismith outstanding even if he gave away “the pen”
It’s quite concerning that we played well and lost against a side who people perceive to be average. How are we going to fare against more fancied sides?

Conway did have a good chance just before the “pen”. Score that and it’s three points and nobody is talking about mentality or sitting back.
Exactly, need to take the chances.
Nearly £10m spent…is it good enough ?

Compared to income from players sold over the last five years, it definitely is not good enough.
