Yep. You got it. That’s exactly what I’m saying.
Ps how are the WINNERS of the Euros getting on?Len, I'd settle for the winners' track record in major tournaments with the odd non-qualification, wouldn't you?
It's perfectly normal.that expectations for this tournament include beating the USA, considering Euro 2020 and WC2018. TBF, before the tournament started, most weren't picking England as favourites (Brazil and France are touted as that).
Besides that, I think the manner of the draw against USA is what has irked most, it certainly did for me.

What is it Nige is building?

Usually I hope we draw a good Prem team in the FA Cup 3rd round. There is no way I want to see Haaland playing our lot at the Gate. Carnage.
He'd have the chance to double the number of hat-tricks he's already scored this season, in one game.
Terrifying!

He won't be given the time to develop things his way if he were to go there. It would be instant success or out.
I think that would probably put him off.

Why take that short, ridiculous decision
It looked to me he didn't back himself to take a proper one. We don't seem able to clear the first man.

A short corner!

Some poor corners this 2nd half

Looove the goal, how can the ref not have given a penalty???

Naismith nearly did it again...

Sykes having plenty of ball, but that was a real waste.

Weimann isn't having the best game tonight
Agreed until now, poor control, which is normally one of his strengths.

Don't see how we can continue to play Naismith, if he continues to give goals away. He looks good, but he's costing us right now. Reminds me of Magnússon, who often saw his mistakes punished with a goal. I like lucky players.

**** off Pukey.
1st half hat trick on its way

That after the commentator said Pukki wasn't on form this season...

Another mistake by Naismith. No good.

This is not a typical season as the fixture list is initially very crowded. We have, I think, 8 league games in August? This will shake out in the next month or so, because the 10 games in threshold will come v quickly. Personally I’m a bit bemused by the Pearson experience. I really like the theory of him as manager - quite different from before, shake up the lazy players stealing a good living, proven track record at this level. But I thought some things were a given- good organisation, strong spine, high work rate, bit of niggle. In other words, more perspiration than inspiration, but with a shout at pulling it off. Yet our defence is the most porous it’s ever been in my 50 years of supporting City. We’re going to have to see this through, I think, as we have no money to spend and frankly Steve L left the building about 18 months ago ( as he’s entitled to and as I would if I was him).
The fixture list is a very relevant point; without a quick turnaround a lot of the damage could already be done. The defence is a worry and in over a year that hasn't been fixed, not sure there is evidence this can be quickly resolved now. Kalas coming back is also no guarantee in an upturn in performance, since he has been, for long periods, a part of that porous, problematic defence.
On the point about SL, I would suggest he left the building a lot more than 18months ago. He essentially handed control of the club to Mark Ashton a long time ago. We continue to pay for that misjudgement now.

Only the start of the season but...conceding 3 goals at home to a promoted side sounds really bad.
What concerns me is the whole familiarity. It feels like last season again already. Very concerning.
Any teams due to get point deductions this ti.e around?

I hope I’m proven wrong, but could be another long season.
Never a good sign when a decent performance brings a poor result. Very familiar feeling and I hate to say, sign of a weak team...
Let's hope we getter a better result next week.

He could have rolled about on the pitch before the match. That would've flattened the surface nicely.
Thank you RR, I'm still laughing, 5 minutes after reading this

Most of those games we were hanging on and playing poorly . We are now playing better and someone soon is going to get a real pasting from us. Lets look for the positives.
We seem further away from giving anyone a pasting than we were a few months ago.
That is really disappointing.

It does beg the question, why bother?

It's quite amazing to think someone could be in the football business for so long and know and have learned so little about it. Beggars belief really.
