I've read a lot of this thread and for someone who has never even thought of having Sky, I can't understand what this means. Perhaps someone can put me right.

No radio commentary on Radio Bristol for home and away?

No TV on Robins TV for some away matches?

An unspecified number of home matches will not be 15.00 Saturday kick off?

I don’t believe the radio commentary is affected, although I don’t know when the current radio deal is up for renewal. I seems that if you want to see the midweek away games legally, you will need to pay a bit more to Now TV than you currently pay Robins TV, but once you set up an account it’s a similar process.

I wonder now the U18s have had some good press and the U21s are famed as part of the "pathway", they will actually get some content on the OS.
I take it they employ people on a full time basis , that we have a media department that runs more than mon/fri 8-5 . I went on to look at the U18 page.
We have a dropdown link to the 'Academy' , which is U21s page , scant details on players there either.

I don't think it's me not looking properly , but there is an U18s page

    https://www.bcfc.co.uk/teams/mens-under-18s/

If you want info on Joe Duncan , you're out of luck there too.

It would take maybe a couple of hours to do Bios for the lot of them , just basic stuff.
Once the pages are done a few minutes to update , but nothing.  The entire content seems to be via Tweets, specially poor as the U18s have reached the semi final this year and the U21s have been doing really well for some time. Then add that many of them have been on the bench at times and a lot of fans wouldn't know anything about them .
    Frustrating and very tinpot IMO.

I will take it back if I have missed the link, but not the virtual total lack of content. Now them deem fit to put the Micky Bell info on the OS at least.

    https://www.bcfc.co.uk/video/interviews/micky-bell-proud-of-young-robins/

and a report of the game

    https://www.bcfc.co.uk/academy-news/report-manchester-city-u18s-1-0-bristol-city-u18s/

Probably more than they have done for the rest of the season.
I don't think they even consider that more coverage would lead to more interest and possibly more actually watching.

Given the incompetent way most of the club’s media is run my tendency is to assume the lack of info is down to insufficient staff or organisation, however I do wonder whether with U18s there are potential safeguarding implications of providing even a name and photo until their 18th birthdays.

  3. If no new season tickets will be sold in the south stand and no transfers in permitted, does that mean current south stand season ticket holders effectively have until 3rd of May to renew their existing seat? Once the seats are released, if no one else can purchase them surely they will remain available to the existing ticket holder?

  4. I have no idea whether there is user group that the app works for, but now that robins tv works through the website on mobile devices the app has been deleted as it appeared to have no other worthwhile features. As mentioned the website is so poor that most info about the club is found on Twitter or YouTube often via others reposting on here and robins tv and tickets are about its limit. I know that it’s how these things are done these days but the shop being on a separate website that you can’t navigate back from is quite irritating.

  5. I think the situation on the pitch has made the club less reluctant to abandon the fan forum Monday, but given the bed sheet protest about the arms fair at the game yesterday, I’m wondering if the unforeseen circumstances is not wanting the public in the building because of security around the arms fair.

  6. There are definitely fans who sit around me who simply cannot go 45 mins without access to substances not permitted in the seating area. Some almost never see more than 30 mins per half, but they are generally as enthusiastic as anyone else while present. While I find it baffling, if you need alcohol, nicotine or other substances that much, I don’t think it’s a matter for the seat police.

  7. That’s how I understand it, so even if you think on a Fri that you’d like to click and collect to pick up at a match at the weekend you’re too late and even on Thursday for a Saturday game it’s hit and miss.

  8. While I’d never heard of Huboo before they took over shirt sponsorship, their association with the shambles that is trying to buy city merchandise these days means I wouldn’t knowingly use them for anything else. Given how little stock seems to exist, it’s unbelievable that something you either want to collect from the shop or want to have printed can’t be in the shop by opening time the day following order before 5pm 99.9% reliably.

That's the problem, when you've got loads of people walking back there'll be some going at snails pace and others in a rush and there's little room for maneuver.

I'm guilty of the occasional overtake off the pavement and to be fair cars don't seem to get too close to the pavement.

The other option is to turn back on yourself on reaching the railway crossing at the entrance to Ashton Vale and follow the wide pavement that follows the busway all the way back to the park and ride. It takes 2 or 3 mins longer, but almost deserted apart from the occasional dog walker.

  10. The fact that when Mehmeti came on he played on the right suggests that Manning doesn’t want wide players getting to the byline and crossing, but cutting in to play centrally. If that is his plan we will have several more games with players looking all at sea before we see any positive progress from playing that way. Time will tell but I’m not looking forward to watching the players flounder until they get with the program.

To be fair, SL and his wife attended quite a few games around 10 years ago at the Stoke Gifford Stadium.

Maybe I misread that and there’s more to do with him becoming less personally involved in all areas of the business over that period. As has been mentioned women’s football has moved on a a rapid rate and any minor lack of engagement results in being left behind.

Amazing how far away we are now from recreating a fixture like this, how did we get so badly left behind

It's amazing to see how quickly things have changed, also could you imagine those prices being charged now?

I don’t think the Lansdown’s have any interest in the women. My belief is they only took Bristol Academy on when Rovers left the EFL for a while, because they would have looked such dinosaurs if they forced the club to go to somewhere like Swindon or Cheltenham. They have done the minimum they can get away with until the last Euros suddenly made them realise that there might be a market for it. Even this summer the CEO left and no recruitment of any other sort appeared to happen until a new one was in place, which probably didn’t give Lauren much time to have a cohesive squad at the start of the season. The very long summer break could have been used to get some togetherness going if recruitment hadn’t been left until preseason was beginning.

How has your attempt to get a ticket now? When I got mine, it took me to the game, I selected an adult ticket price then when I clicked continue (or whatever it was) then the price went down to £0 as a ST holder

Once I realised it was just meant to take you to the tickets page, I signed in as if I was going to get a men’s ticket, went to the women’s section and selected the ticket and the price went to zero at checkout. As I’ve started Covid symptoms that another family member already has, we wait to see whether I’m actually fit to attend by then. Fingers crossed. 🤞

Because it's at the RHPC, season tickets can't be used. Therefore, ST holders have to "claim" their free ticket to print themselves. Claims can be made from today & up until 2pm this Friday.

ST holders will be sent links via email.
Match tickets as per normal now on sale.

Parking available at QEH for free, first come first served. No info yet on a matchday bus service

Not only is this a pretty short time frame but the link on the email on my computer gets me a 404 error and on the phone repeatedly requests I prove I'm not a robot without giving an option to do so. At the moment everything around the womens' side of things feels like last minute crisis management.
