What hes doing is doing what Cotterill did - making statements of the squad to the board by means of stubborness and stupidity. He clearly knows who he wants out, has to make do currently with who we have, but is trying to make a point re the squad imo. With JL questioning performances and Nige publicly biting back, we have a very public tug of war going on which ( i hope ) Nige wins. JL/SL dont have a history of utilising tough managers clearly because they like control and dont know how to handle someone taking over their ‘nice’ Bristol City. I think in Nige theyve got something which they shouldve expected, but are uneasy about handling. Hopefully a summer of some funds invested and a few sales/frees/get rid ofs will go some way to giving Nige a squad he really wants.

Injury or fitness aside, am i the only one who thinks James is pretty crap?! Doesnt offer a great deal and im not buying his ‘experience’. Marlon Pack was a better midfielder, and though slow, makes James look like a snail!

If by any miracle we can keep atleast Semenyo and Scott, and ( hope ) that we gain some sell ons for Kelly and Webster in the summer to help balance the books, i think Nige could put us where we want to be next season with 4 or 5 experienced signings to add to what we have. We now have a pattern of play, no aimless lumping. Heres to next season!

I think a lot of our choices may rest on whether Kelly and Webster attract big money in the summer. Make anything near £7-10m in sell ons for those and it could lend the chance to not letting any of these 3 go. I’d choose Massengo to go though if any, purely because we could cover him more easily than the other two.
