CotswoldRed
Is stealing a car any different to stealing taxpayers money? Yes. You are far more likely to get legal aid if you steal taxpayers money And the legal aid money will be used to argue that their acts are ....OUTSIDE OF CONVENTION LAW" so they are immune. You couldn't make it up.

sephjnr
I refer the right honourable gentleman to my current signature Please also refer to "A weak pound is the sign of a weak government" Couldn't resist, sorry. But a weak pound also encourages other nations to import our goods and invest in our industries, would it not? ... if we had any of either left from the previous four admnistrations, that is AFAIK the Japanese government promoted some devaluation to get the Yen going again in the last year or so... Can of worms ....! Its not as simple as that. You don't want an overly strong currency, but a healthy currency is one that hasn't fallen over the cliff, that's for certain. Weak currency (with low interest rates) discourages investment in the pound also.
