Admin Maesknoll Posted May 20, 2004 Admin Posted May 20, 2004 What a night!! But my enjoyment was marred by the vitriol and abuse aimed at Chris Roberts BEFORE he set up the equaliser and then for good measure slotted home the winner. One particular instance sticks in my mind, when we were still chasing the game, Roberts was breaking through the middle with one defender to beat, Murray was supporting on the right. Roberts tried to beat the defender, which if he had done, he would have been one on one with the keeper, he was tackled and the abuse aimed at him was disgraceful. He certainly isn't the finished article, he probably hasn't got the 'footballing' brain to become a superstar, but he has the attitude that goalscorers need, he isn't afraid to have a go and hopefully has done enough to stop the clause in his contract being invoked.
Guest Geesus the City fan Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 also heard many jibes and sneers in the Williams aimed at Sir Christian, i couldnt resist putting hand to ear and glaring at the affending morons after his 90+ minute winner. The thing is these people were not kids but 'mature' adults who surely should know better! uuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddddddsssss
tinman-is-god Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Anyone who now has the audacity to criticise the legend that is Christian Roberts can just pi55 off :@ - HE IS A CITY LEGEND WE ARE GOIN UP!!
