What an absoloutely unbelievable game!

However for me, i almost missed it. I'm a student at Gloucester Uni and headed down to my local student bar (which had been advertising the game) at around 7, only to discover that for the first time since id been here the tv was broke!!

Me and one of my mates on my floor (Another City fan) then ran to the closest pub only to find out they were showing the Uefa cup final!! At 7.30 we were stood on a bus stop in Gloucester trying to get to Cheltenham (which is about a 15 minute bus ride.) After rushing around in an attempt to find somewhere showing it we got to 'Scream', they turned the Uefa cup off for us to put the game on the big screen (they later put the Uefa cup on a several smaller tv's) - 'Scream' in Cheltenham is a wonderful establishment : i advise you go there :D

Me and my mate then watched the remainder of the game (there was about 15 insutes gone when we got there) going from a state of expectation to desolation to ecstacy. The amusing thing was that no-one else in the {rather large} bar appeared to care about the game, and then there was us going crazy and voicing obsenities at various points. Notably smashing my hand on a table infront of me and shouting 'for ####s sake' when Pool scored and going absoloutely beserk, jumping around the pub (to the amusement of everyone else!) when we scored our goals.

I wish i could relive the momment Christian Roberts scored, a jumped out of my seat, half way across the bar - no idea what i was shouting!!

All this with a pint of Blackthorn infornt of me - life as a City fan eh!!

You might not care but as i woke up with the biggest Vodka enduced (i progressed onto Vodka) headache ive ever had and am still feeling very rough, i couldnt give a monkey's! ^_^

That's the spirit!

Actually, when I lived in the Middle East I once knocked on the door of a complete stranger and asked if I could watch a game (England 5-1 Germany) on his TV, I'd had a tip off that this bloke might be watching it.

Yes, basically I'd always had trouble getting to see big games due to the fact that it wasn't worth me or my mates having the satellite systems. So that morning we had a plan which was working until 10 minutes before the game was due to start when we got a phone call that the place we were going to watch it was closed. The chap who called us said he knew some houses where people might be watching it, so we drove around found a house with a few cars parked outside and knocked on the door. The chap let us in no problem. He was Dutch and they had just lost to Ireland so was in a state of shock and didn't really care.

When we got in there were about 20 people there watching the end of a video. Luckily one guy said, 'Right who wants to watch the game now.' We had our hands stright up. Five people then walked out in a huff because they couldn't watch the end!
