Guest jacetheace1969 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Does anyone else other me, think the booking fees for the tickets are excessive? They still have the cheek to charge us £1.50 for postage on top the booking fee as well. Does that mean are tickets are insured? Also if our tickets don't turn up can we sue the money grabbers? Sorry just think they are taking the michael :@
The Man In Black Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Exactly my sentiments earlier. Imagine if you're taking your family (as I'm sure many are) - it's an extra £11.50 on top of the already inflated ticket prices!
Guest dan_84 Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 no worse than what you pay for gigs though is it. i'm resigned to being robbed every time i want to go somewhere fun!
The Man In Black Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I'm going to whack a post up on the 'Ask' forum, and if they give me that answer ("it's standard practice") then I'll be pretty angered to say the least. If they can give me a decent excuse, then fair enough, but I can't think of one...
Guest Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Do you ask the price of a pint before you buy its only money Memories are priceless We are being ripped of every day by the price of petrol etc and god knows what else, so chill and enjoy no more more
The Man In Black Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Yes, but without me doing a 'poor me' post following my team to Cardiff is going to financially cripple me. I wouldn't miss it for the world, hence why I'm going to do the irrational thing and go. And what makes it worse is that the FA hasn't made provisions for us students... as usual. No matter what people think, we're not filthy rich, honest!!

bcfc seattle Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I've always thought if they always charge "booking fees" why not just include it in the ticket price? Thatway no one would complain. Just state the pre and say inclusive of all fees.
The Man In Black Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 not worth it mate Too late Though I did admit on there that it was too late for anything to be done, I think that our feelings should be known - if you never tell the club how you feel, how will they change things for the better in the future?
Guest WestburyRed Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 General ticket sales are being out-sourced to another company (which is what many people asked for last season after the various ticket fiascos), they will of course be taking a hefty fee, it won't be added to the actual cost of tickets because its not part of the ticket price (which I imagine is set by the FA).
Matty H Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 no worse than what you pay for gigs though is it. i'm resigned to being robbed every time i want to go somewhere fun! Do you honestly believe we could sign Giggs for £1.50?!! Honestly some people!

Yeah, but if this is to cover their fees they're set to make between £80,000 and £90,000 for this service! Considering that they're 'specialists' with all the necessary equipment and staff, I find that hard to digest

If they can give me a decent excuse, then fair enough, but I can't think of one... ask about those flamin petrol prices aswel while your at it!!!!
The Man In Black Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 ask about those flamin petrol prices aswel while your at it!!!! Oh, I can answer that one for you quite easily sir. OPEC is an oil cartel that controls the amount of oil barrels that leave their member states. Now, in our econmies, such cartels are illegal because they tantamount to price fixing. However, these Middle Eastern economies haven't been completely brushed over with our brand of capitalism as of yet. They know that oil is something we all need, and control the production for several reasons: 1) so that all the member states have a chance to sell a nice amount of oil to pump money into their countries 2) by controlling supply prices are driven up due to a lack of barrels on the market - everyone has to pay more. And as it has been for many, many years, demand has risen sharply, whereas supply has only slowly increased. It's in their interests not work together and not to compete, as this way they all make more wonga. An added cost to the price of petrol in this country is petrol duty, which account for about 60p of the cost of petrol. This lovely tax is pumped... well, into crap from what I can tell because even though this must generate billions and billions and billions of revenue for the government, many things are still up the creek in this country. Oh, and the government also claim that this duty will help tempt people onto public transport. They just haven't leant one thing yet: we won't while it is crap. So, there, hope that answers some issues for you nobby. See, who needs to 'Ask' them anything?
Guest nobby Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 cheers mate, great response!!! although i i did already know most of the blame lies with our money-grabbing labour government
munchkjn Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Can I just add.... Petrol prices are also being affected by the current high price of oil due to: 1. High Chinese (9.9% increase in GDP growth), Indian and US (4.9%) demand. 2. Speculation that OPEC cannot increase production significantly to meet demand. 3. Supply disruption fears in middle east. These 3 reasons are fuelling speculation in the futures market that oil prices will increase further especially during the US "driving season". It is a self fulfilling prophesy....
