Percy Parrot Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 anyone know anything about whether extra tickets will be available should we need them? I know we took 39,000 odd last season to the LDV and this is MORE important- but conversely I think we will sell less. Less time period for people to get excited, and to neutral cup-finals somehow appear more attractive. ALSO because we did the LDV last season less people will go just for the day out. Anyway, I am sure we will sell the 34,000 we have been given so far. But Brighton will also sell their 31,000 perhaps by the weekend by the sounds of it (I think it was just a free for all without priority). Now I make that under 65,000 sold- and the footballgroundguide says capacity for football is 72,500. SO- do you think Brighton will get an extra allocation of 5,000 and we will get another 2,000? Then it would make it 36,000 allocation that I am sure would be sold out by both clubs. Ideally Brighton would be given no more and we would snap up another 7,000 to take 38,000 again but I can't see this happening.
Guest Tian Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Some seats go to Sponsors and People like that Look at the FA Cup final Man Utd. got allocated 27,000- Millwall 21,000 I think they've been generous with us regarding tickets, although it would be nice to take 5,000 more Cidereds to Cardiff
Guest WestburyRed Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 So how many tickets do Brighton have? It said approx 33,000 for Brighton on the Brighton site. I think we will get the same amount each. 66,000 for the fans is actually very good, FA Cup Final is something like 48,000 (anyone know my Man Utd get more then Millwall by the way?), once things like corporate and free hospitality tickets are dished out to all the sponsors the fans capacity reduces significantly. Funnily enough my other half's Brother got a ticket for last seasons LDV without doing anything, I went through the evil ticketing process but he and his mates somehow got 8 tickets from work (in the City end), made me sick.
Percy Parrot Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 It said approx 33,000 for Brighton on the Brighton site. I think we will get the same amount each. it says "just over 30,000" today. Maybe it changed or you misread? maybe it had different info on different sites? Their official site says just over 30,000 their forum are talking of 31,000 so somewhere between those two figures I think.

SO- do you think Brighton will get an extra allocation of 5,000 and we will get another 2,000? neither us or brighton will get extra tickets unless one of us fail to sell out, which doesnt look like its going to happen. the reason we had 40 000 last time was due to carlisle only selling around half of thiers. there is also segregation to consider, evre seat in the ground will not be sold due to the large parts of netting put over the seats to keep the fans apart, that being the reason for the reduced capacity. its not rocket science really is it boys and girls!!!

I assume the 72,500 capacity takes segregation into account as it says "for football" and a higher capacity is given for other events. Still a little surprised that there would be 7000 tickets for sponsors etc. Hoped there may be a thousand or so extra to both sets of fans.
