Percy Parrot Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 right- we all saw how great our balloons looked at Barnsley- now lets REALLY go for it- red and white all over the Mill Stad. Buy your balloons red and white wherever you can. I will go buy a whole load someone in next couple of days- may even try some GIANT ones!!!! how many others will make Cardiff a sea of red and white. Just to show what CAN be achieved- http://forums.cpfc.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=1617030 wouldn't that look great all over the Mill Stad in red and white?
Guest Neo Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Percy, I would buy some, the problem is does anybody know a shop where you can buy specific colours and in bulk. Lasy year for the LDV I bought 10 packets of those crappy Fiesta Balloons; close to a tenner and ended up with 13 red and 8 white! Wouldn't of been so bad, but half of these were those stupid long things which are a barsteward to blow up. These companies just don't consider us smokers; I haven't had lung capacity for 10 bloody years
Guest wolverhampton cider ed Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 You have to register for that site. Ive taken baloons to all the last few games I'll bring loads of balloons to cardiff that is if I geta ticket on monday which seems to be highly unlikely. I'm watching millwall Man utd looking at the ground I cant believe its so hard to get tickets its huge It was huge when I went to LDV though mind.
Guest jackhartlanduk Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 good idea someone done that at sheffield too

Percy Parrot Posted May 22, 2004 Author Posted May 22, 2004 well I have just bought 2 red streamers and 1 white streamer for me, 2 red streamers for Wesco, 20 red balloons + 10 white balloons for Godzilla and 60 red balloons and 20 white balloons for me!!!! So that's a tiny tiny section of the stadium done. (110 balloons) We need THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS MORE. COME ON CIDER'EDS!!! Make it a sea of red and white! where to buy- childrens scrapstore near the foot of the M32. If not card shops (Clinton Cards etc) usually do packets of single colour balloons. I would say you normally have to pay £2-3 for 10-12. Party shops, balloon shops etc all do them. I went to the BigW (big Woolworths) in Beckton, east London. Is there one in the Bristol area? the balloons I got were sold in packs of 10 and cost 99p each. The streamers (both red and white ones) cost 79p each.

Come on people- remember what Brighton did to our East End with their damn blue and white balloons? I am not letting them do the same to the Mill Stad with no response!!!!!
Guest claloudav Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 well i'll try to get some balloons but if i end up right at the top then they could blow away, id rather they stayed in the stadium for colour and support
Guest brightys_cider_army Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 tommycidered has got just under a thousand red balloons and is hoping to get some more. What would have been good is that if we had to pay an extra 10p more on top of our tickets and get 2 or 3 balloons each so that way everyone will have one.
Percy Parrot Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 well i'll try to get some balloons but if i end up right at the top then they could blow away, id rather they stayed in the stadium for colour and support eh? there's a big roof that should stop that happening. Blow your balloons up, when the teams come out you punch them into the air and they will slowly cascade down the tiers, down the stands where they will be seen! You know you want to!!
Guest ROLFIE Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I went to the BigW (big Woolworths) in Beckton, east London. Is there one in the Bristol area? Theres a BigW out filton way right by the MOD place at abbey wood...balloons'ville in there...
Guest Red_Rat Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 What are streamers? - or am i being plain dumb?
Percy Parrot Posted May 23, 2004 Author Posted May 23, 2004 What are streamers? - or am i being plain dumb? like bog rolls- but made of crepe paper and are red and white. Lob them from the top tier and they unravel- look great.

Guest wishbone Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Great ideas - excitement is really infectious Balloons are easy to do & involve everyone as they get bounced around. Yep, we need a sea of red & white to support the lads, so everyone should do what they can. Simple things are often the best. Enjoy! COME ON YOU REDS!

Yes that is good in the craft shop in St. Werbeughs (near m32) you can get 100 9" ones for £3.75. I got 700 balloons so my section should be ok
Percy Parrot Posted May 24, 2004 Author Posted May 24, 2004 I know! Why dont we ask Cameron Baloons to make us a massive one that says bcfc on it. And we could fly it in to the stadium. now that WOULD be good!
Guest purple_monkey_dishwasher Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I went to the BigW (big Woolworths) in Beckton, east London. Is there one in the Bristol area? the balloons I got were sold in packs of 10 and cost 99p each. The streamers (both red and white ones) cost 79p each. Yep, there's a Big W in Filton. Went there this evening and bought 50 balloons and 2 streamers for about 6 quid. The streamers are 81ft long, so will look fantastic as I chuck them from the top tier behind the goal.

LSN Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 I've got 40 red balloons. Baught what looked like dark red balloons too because they were running out of red ones, but blew one of em up and its more pruple than anything! So, i ditched them and only using the red ones.
Guest bristolbred Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 If you get to Baa-diff, Balloon-less, then there are plenty of pubs where you can buy large balloons for about £2 for three!!. I'm even bringing the kitchen sink!!, 'cos... WE ARE GOING UP!!< SAY WE ARE GOING UP!!!.
atyeomatt Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 I have just been on the phone to a company called Party FX, 80-82 Regent Street,Kingswood. Tel 0117 9671825. They will sell you 100 red/white balloons for £7 and will be more than happy to work a deal for a larger order. They will be placing an order later today, to arrive tomorrow. The latest chance to phone for balloons before the weekend will be Thursday am. A very friendly company, worth remembering for the future.
RedM Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Unfortunately I can't blow balloons up. No idea why, I know it sounds stupid, I've just never been able to do it for some reason! I'm more than willing to bring confetti, streamers etc. though. Don't feel bad, i can't do it either, I get a headache and it feels like I've a hangover if I blow up balloons. The only red ones I have found so far have 'Happy Ruby Wedding Anneversary' printed on them! they are a nice red though, shall I buy some as these will be better than nothing! You may think that's weird but I also seen white ones...with 'Congratulations on your First Holy Communion'!
