Guest smarty Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 This is the story. For some stupid reason City only decided to sell tickets block by block. So when you got to the ticket counter everyone was waiting for better tickets to appear. The cheaper ticket queues were empty. At one stage they decided to start selling £46 quid tickets at the £40 pound queue. people in a nearby £46 pound queue were made to join the end of what was previously a £40 pound queue. They were not happy chappies I can tell you. This also meant that I was now able to get a £46 pound ticket in a better location than the £40 pound place so I was slightly more happy. But what I don't understand is why all the best tickets were not sold from the start. I don't think any tickets from the middle of the pitch were sold at all. They all seemed to be from the corners or behind the goal. Looks like the best tickets were held back by the club for the players, staff and hanger ons. I dont mind the players and staff getting them but seems like an awful lot were held back. Did anyone get a ticket for sections M9,M10,M11,M12 or M30,M29,M28,M27 before 11.00am and after queuing for them. I'd be interested to find out? I also notice that CS and RG were hiding away somewhere. Couldn't be bothered to come down and see the mess. No proper management at the sharp end leaving the stewards to face some very angry people. 7.50 to 11.30 Also the paper up in some of the windows said side tickets but they were actually selling end tickets. When this was pointed out to them they eventually corrected their mistakes. All I wanted was a £40 pound ticket along the side, not too much to ask for was it. See you all in cardiff.
wesco Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 side stand middle tier goes to the football league and city and brigthon players and staff I bet.
Guest smarty Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 So it seems nobody got tickets at the side. I got M26 which is the first block on the corner.
Cider red Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I waited over 4 hours to get tickets today!! The stuards were useless and it was a complete farce!!

Guest tinnion123 Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 started queuing at 1.30 got mine at 3.30 m20 right behind the goal
Guest oldfield Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Tickets for M12 must have all been sold as by 9:45 not many left on the pile when i got mine. Blocks M12, M13, M14 and M15 went on sale at the very start.
Guest smarty Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 The allocations have been very widely advertised and clearly state that the tickets are sold from the middle outwards. If you can't work out what that means, then seek help. Who's that aimed at? This is the whole point of the post that THEY WEREN'T sold from the middle out as nobody has tickets for the zones mentioned above. They appear to be reserved for anyone apart from the true supporters who queued up for hours.
Cardy Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Hi Smarty From what you describe I think we must have been up there the same time (when they said that they were starting a new block of £46 'Side View' tickets). I also got a ticket in M26 which looking at my plan is actually a corner block. The whole think stinks. I too do not know anyone who got a ticket in the blocks you mentioned. If those tickets get sold later in the week I am going to go mental. I know why this has happened - incase we dont see lout the other tickets can be offered to Brighton if necessary. But we know we are going to sell out so should have been given all our tickets to start with. The club has actually made the situation worse by clearly stating that the best seats will be sold first, when this is clearly not the case. Just checked the official site that says that out of the tickets we have received (so far ??) only 28% were for side view. The steward where we were queuing actually said that the club held back 3 side view blocks for players / staff so I guess that the 28 % all but gone. Personally I reckon that we have been told to sell from one direction around the ground, so it stands to reason that the people who buy the last tickets will also probably get really good side views. TOTALLY UNFAIR considering the club already knows we will sell all 34000 no problem.
