Guest Bawno Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I don't know about you, but I ersonally am glad we got Brighton in the final as I think we will do much better against them, and I also think that we would have done alright against Swindon but they would prove more of a challenge. Overall I'm glad it's brighton in the final, but some people may think differently.....
Robbored Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Brighton rely heavily on thier defence and play a counter attacking game with Knight up front. Swindon have three classy strikers but not much else. Brighton will remember the 4-1 thrashing dished out by City at the Withdean and I remember their players celebrating after they'd got a 0-0 at AG as if they'd won the game.I reckon Brighton will try to stiffle City by defending deep thereby stiffling City's pace. They'll then try to hit City on the break to try and nick a goal. Should be a tactically interesting game. But I'm glad it Brighton and not Swindon.
B-Rizzle Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Pleased the brighton. Swindon are too attacking and would have coursed us more problems than brighton. I think that we will be pushing brighton onto the back foot for most of the game like we did both times in the league and like swindon did on thursday.
Guest claloudav Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 well brighton rely on mcknight wheres swindle rely on mooney & parker, rather face brighton that way we onkly got to watch one player i tell you if that mcknight wasnt there brighton then wouldnt be playing us in the final they rely on him tomuch
TomBCFCUK Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Is that leon knight your on about and they do have 2 other decent strikers gary hart is one and chris iwelumo aint a bad striker on his day. but yeh i would prefer brighton.
Guest tinnion123 Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I'm glad we got brighton because they looked bad against swindon we have a better chance against brighton than swindon leon knight is the only real threat
Guest redwes Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I am glad we got brighton because they have only one threat(knight) whereas swindon have got a few however our defenders have done well against any good team that has a good strike force( the city defenders have kept them out of the game) and the city defenders would do it at the play off final against any team and any strikers
arpaul Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Makes no odds to me.. What I saw of both Brighton and Swindon this season holds no fears. two very ordinary teams, disappointed to have taken only four points off each.
Guest lilciderhed Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 happy with Brighton, they were awful both times we played them, only the second time we werent to good either. Swindon seem to have a crap defence but quite good attacking. And personally if we do go out I'd rather it be Brighton than Swindon, for a number of reasons that I wont go into.
Guest STORTFORDRED2 Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Swindon have weak defence but are good going forward. Brighton are stronger defensively, in general, although we tore them apart for 20 minutes at Withdean. I wonder if danny will realise this and think that Hill and Coles would be the best central defence against the smaller, nippier Knight. this would free up the possibilty of having a more attacking left side. realise how much we miss Brown now, even though he was erratic this season.
