Guest Red_Rat Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Personally, i would like to see him more regulary in the First Team Squad. The occassions i have seen him he has been quality, and a good passer of the ball. He can play in defence but i feel his best position is in the centre of midfield. Like a Patrick Viera type player. Your lots oppinions are...? Red_Rat.
kit Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Really havent made mt mind up about him, but it is swinging towards him not being good enough. Looks very dodgy uneasy on the ball a lot of the time. I don't like him in defence. Did a good job against Brentford when he came on. But I can't judge him on one performance. The rest of the time I have seen him I havent been overly impressed.

He came on and he changed the game, I remember his first touch was a powerful header and he got a huge cheer. He is a good player but when (if!) we get promoted I think first division maybe a little to high for him. But you never know.

bcfc seattle Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 My feeling is Danny didn't get him nearly enough game action this season(much like many of the youngsters) I feel he'd probably be partnering Coles now if he'd been given the opportunity early in the season. Danny's inablity to use young players correctly is mind numbing. Ex. Woody plays two games this calender year then is thrust into an umfamilar position for the playoffs? Hardly seems to be a spot where he can thrive (that being said all things considered he did a great job). I hope we enter next season with Fortune being one of our starters in the back or at least in a rotation perhaps with Woody and new old guy.
Guest Cidergal Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I believe that Clayton has the potential to become a division one player but I don't think he's quite there yet. Definately a midfielder or a striker, not a defender! He's one of those players that kind of lulls around looking a bit lankey and unbalanced but is actually quite good! If he rises to the challenge of Division one if we get promoted then who knows, we may see him play every week.
bristolcityup Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I agree with Seatle, From the few games ive seen Clayton play this season he's been strong and shown potential but Like Leroy Lita he just hasnt been given the chances.

Claverham_Red Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Too High !!!??? :@ :@ At his height nothing is 'too high' for him !!! I meant the standard of football. In other words: second division = Yep he can easily play there first division = Not really and he will struggle. But you never know
