RedTop Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Brentford are reported to be preparing to make an audacious bid for Charlton's Italian superstar, Paolo di Canio. Martin Allen is quoted in today's Sun newspaper and seems serious about trying to bring the former West Ham striker to Griffin Park. The Brentford manager remains realistic about what would be a stunning signing saying, "The obvious stumbling block is wages but we are pursuing every avenue to make Paolo a realistic offer." Obviously it's true, as it's in The Sun. I saw someone mention his name here a while ago and dismissed it as fantasty. But wouldn't it be fantastic to see him in a red and white shirt if/when we get promotion? The closest thing to Jacki the young 'uns will ever see.
Taz Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Think I read in the News Of The World today that QPR are trying to sign him as well? Could just be the usual paper talk but who knows
Guest stevey2005 Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 it would be good to see him at ashton gate the only worry though is that he would demand high wages which could stop us in investing in other players
TomBCFCUK Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 QPR are trying to sign Benito Carbone from italian side parma because he is close friends to gino padula the (gypi) that is already at loftus road. Paulo di caneo would be a great signing but some how i think he will look to stay in the premier league with a team like norwich or west brom.
Big Red Rich Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 No he's not close to Gino Padula, its Gianni Palladini, a new investor to QPR that is friends with Carbone.
Keepers Ball Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I heard the other day Sunderland have released Jason McAteer. If we went up he'd be a good acquisition to our midfield
Taz Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 QPR are trying to sign Benito Carbone from italian side parma because he is close friends to gino padula the (gypi) that is already at loftus road. Or it could have been him
Drew Peacock Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 and di Canio got on so well with DW at Sheff W. ..................
bcfc seattle Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Some how neither paulo nor DW seem the type to kiss and make up. It seems very unlikely that he'd come here with Danny in charge. In fact we should probably hope we never play him whole Danny is here as he'd probably stick it to us in a big way.
