headhunter Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 What's the latest on the lad from Liverpool ? Last comment on here over 2 weeks ago was that he was considering other offers and might wait to see what division we are in before giving a commitment. I think we were too "loud" about the success of his trial period here and that may have alerted other clubs. With 8 out of contract next week I reckon DW will mix it up in the close season whether we go up or stay put. Lots of reasonable players going to be looking for new clubs and with supply greater than demand that should force down wage rates of many and allow them to be accomodated in our pay structure.
dazza247 Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 As far as I'm aware the situation with Gillespie is exactly the same-ie we are in talks but he's waiting to see which division we are in next season before committing himself!! We really need to go up to attract this sort of player(not that I've seen him in action but from reports he's good)and to retain our better players!! I fear we'll need to cash in on the likes of Coles and Doherty after the Murray gamble this season if we don't go up..fingers crossed we'll all be celebrating Sunday and it doesn't come to that!
Guest Spunkwood Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 it wont come into it my dear lad we're goin up
Guest rednick_74 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 this gillespie thing has dragged on for a bit.. are we going to sign him or what??

Guest rednick_74 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 doesnt this answer the question?! thanks it does answer the question when we get in division 1 he would consider signing for us right .. that sign is spot on mate..
Lordofthebling Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 yep thats right, cant blame him - apparently a few 1st division clubs have been after him but we have first option - if we go up...... which we will....
bcfc seattle Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 It still seemed that we had a chance to sign him right off, but DW said something like "we want to see him in a couple more reserve games". You got to take it when you have the chance. very disturbing.
Guest Spunkwood Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 has Rivaldo signed for Bolton yet has Gillesbie signed for city yet :@ not yet but he bloody will, I did hear Cardiff liked him

Trust me if we go up we'll need players much more experienced and better than him.
