rayer Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I have seen a few posts around asking if there is cheaper final tickets for students. I am pleased to say , yes there is. What you do is to go and do a part time job for around 3 hours. ( 180 mins ). To fit in the additional 3 hours, you could get up earlier, and still have youre usual day routine. With the earnings of these 3 hours of work, you can put towards the price of the tickets. And hey presto !!! You have pounds off the price which you complained about a few days earlier .
The Man In Black Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 Whoah whoah whoah!! What happens to going down the pub...? p.s. oh, I see... you get a job in the pub
Guest sambessey Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 In all seriousness, I take it there are no discounts for us tax dodging students then?
Guest bcfcsols Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 nope I'm afraid not. Got to scratch up 32 quid from somewhere then...........
dazza247 Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 nope I'm afraid not. Got to scratch up 32 quid from somewhere then........... I suggest selling off some un-needed text-books..!!
Guest red herring Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I think your being a bit harsh rayer. You obviously didn't have the brains to go to uni. Sour grapes me thinks
Big Red Rich Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I'd say, have a good shave, wear a baseball cap and go in for a kid.
Guest wolverhampton cider ed Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 My names nearly the last post on all of em I am sad
The Man In Black Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I suggest selling off some un-needed text-books..!! Have you ever sold back textbooks back to the bookshops?? It's the biggest conspiracy ever... £30 odd to buy each, and then they try and fob you off with about £6 to buy them back off of you. And I find it too time consuming to put up adverts round uni and wait for someone to call, only for them to try and haggle you down because an otherwise perfect textbook is dog-eared in one corner p.s. here's some maths for you non-students who think we have it easy - I had to spend about £250 on textbooks this year, and that's just for business studies... other courses have to spend more
dazza247 Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 I'd say, have a good shave, wear a baseball cap and go in for a kid. Or buy a fake beard, really thick glasses, grab a walking stick, a hat, scarf, tatty brown woolen jumper, a grey wig and amble really slowly and try to get in as an OAP!!

Sour grapes me thinks No, I joined the RAF and got my A levels and degree there, whilst working and getting paid a handsome wage.
city nut Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 No, I joined the RAF and got my A levels and degree there, whilst working and getting paid a handsome wage. I think this show hes got more brains as ive just finished my first year of uni and I'm trying to pay off my overdraft
PhatWill Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Us students are concessions really...my ticket certainly didn't cost £32 and didn't for the LDV's last year.
rayer Posted May 24, 2004 Author Posted May 24, 2004 I cant be that brainy though, I queued for 5 hours on Sat and suffered sunburn
dazza247 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Woohoo...I now have tickets!! Joking about the whole text-book thing; I was a student momentarily but had to drop out in debt!! Know how hard it is-going back next September with money behind me! Student season-tickets are a bit of a bargain though-the early bird prices were £120 I think which works out about £5/6 a ticket!! Imagine that for (hopefully!!) First-Division Football!! Oh I can't wait to be a student with all the beer-discounts etc again..!!
