edson Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Just a quick question about your game that was played Sunday morning, how did you get on? Did it go ahead? The game did go ahead and finished 3-3. Thanks to everyone who turned up. And a special thanks to Accurist for supplying the ref with a watch that didn't work. The forum team were 3-1 up with 5 minutes to go and the BCFC staff team pulled two goals back 15 minutes later. We took penalties at the end and the BCFC staff team completed a hollow victory. I had to get back to Norfolk, so I deliberately dragged my spot kick wide, just to conclude proceedings quickly, obviously... I think Tom took a few pics, but I have this one of Adam Baker going to ground for the freekick from which they equalised in the 148th minute:
deadratinmycider Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 ha ha ha!! classic edson!! he went down like a sack of new potatoes :@ :@
edson Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 he went down like a sack of new potatoes :@ :@ Not to mention taking off his shirt when he scored. The mental scars may live with me for years.
AdamB Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I had to get back to Norfolk, so I deliberately dragged my spot kick wide, And our exclusive snap shows the referee ending proceedings.
AdamB Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Followed by another exclusive of three Forum Team members after the match. (Just Add Sour)
AdamB Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 how did you get on? Fair play to the Forum Team, they did well against a very strong staff side Godzilla scored the opener with a good curling effort, but yours truly levelled matters shortly after with another curler, this time a little further out. EDR managed to scramble the ball home with his knee before the interval to make it 2-1. But the home side took control after the interval, only to be denied by a number of great saves from BRR. A quick breakaway and a late challenge handed the Forumers a spot-kick, which BRR duly slotted home. Inside the last ten minutes manager Joey M pushed three up front and got just reward. After a great team goal shortly before the end, TomF clattered into my goodself to giveaway a late free kick. The ball curled over the wall and sneaked inside the far post for a deserved equaliser. It's lucky Mr. Acurist blew his whistle then, it could have 4-3, poss 5-3 if we would have continued any further. As for the penalties, erm, well done BRR, not so well done EDR (not the first time he's 'hit the bar' recently), Granty (?) or Edson (how wide?). Anyway, think that sums it up. PS - I won't mention the removal of my shirt
deadratinmycider Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 PS - I won't mention the removal of my shirt I was running the line at the time, and Tinman said it was hideous sight!! I think his daughter started crying aswell
Granty Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Only thing that sticks in my mind is a challenge (or more like soft stroke) from Tom F on Adam B who went down as if he had been shot from point blank range, and the resultant free kick (which should have never been) saved their blushes !! And, yes I did convert my penalty in a typically strong fashion
Guest pledge Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Having read previous "Adam Baker" match reports i'd imagine this is quite accurarte. Though the words "his, blowing, own and trumpet" come to mind when reading it. This Joe M sounds a canny manager, with his match winning changes. Will there ever be a replay?
