Antman Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 'City made an attacking substitution on 64 minutes with Jon Stead replacing the busy Jamal Campbell-Ryce who was constantly a threat to the Seagulls backline' This from the main site sums it up. a constant threat - taken off, put on a striker out wide who should have gone up front to partner Maynard. Yet again, we see him putting players on out of position, yet again, when the blindingly obvious is there for all to see, Milly sees something different, and makes decisions that are at best dubious, but mostly tactically inept. When Stead came on, Maynard gestured to him asking ' 2 up front?' Stead shook his head and pointed to the wing, Maynard visibly slumped and entirely understandable too, to be played as a lone striker isn't his game, and for us as a team to have such a quality player mis-managed on the pitch is a shambolic and shameful waste that asks the question what the hell is Millen doing? Killkenny was driving me to despair today, yes he was 'busy', yes he 'covered a lot of ground' and yes, he was demanding the ball, BUT...he was totally and utterly ineffective. So given that he's having little impact, but JCR is actually dangerous, full of direct running and getting at them what do you do? never mind 'What Would Jesus Do?' we've got 'What Would Millen Do?' and it's usually followed by a groan and the sinking feeling that comes with a sense of utter despair that our clueless manager has just unraveled what little creative play we were capable of. and that was NOT an attacking substitution by any stretch of the imagination. Brace yourselves for the usual crap - we were unlucky - close game - either side could have won - we 'won' the first half - all meaningless gibberish. FACT: WE LOST AT HOME AGAIN. FACT: WE HAVEN'T YET SCORED A GOAL AT AG THIS SEASON Millen has shown he is incapable of making tactical or strategic decisions that enable this team to win a game or react to other teams patterns of play - he won with the lone striker at Leicester and so he's sticking with it, why? because he hasn't got a damn clue what else to do - well it ain't working Keith - how long until you actually realise that. and Mr Sexstone - how long for the board to step up the pressure on him? or do you condone the style and manner of our play and our form. We were at home FFS! shameful rubbish
GrahamC Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Spot on, Antman. Millen won't keep his job if continues to serve up this at home. How on earth Kilkenny stayed on is baffling, but then so is JCR coming off, Stead (who was awful) wide left and plenty more besides, we're in a mess, it's a year ago all over again............
Monkeh Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Players aren't playing for him he's a dead man walking At least Johnson had honour and resigned this **** is just milking us for wages like hunt and stewert while pretending to be a manager Sorry keef you can't manage your dinner **** off
Guest MC Risk Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 ok i tend to agree with you that campbell-ryce looked dangerous, but yet again what did he produce??? its ok looking dangerous but if you ultimately provide nothing then you again disapoint. He didnt really produce any telling crosses which is what maynard is crying out for, some kind of service.... i thought skuse was our best player today, and while mcgivern was caught out defensively a couple of times, he looks like he can deliver the balls in the box that stead and maynard can thrive on.... It has to be stead and maynard next time out.....if not, hey well i give up
Monkeh Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Which he took John Mullen wouldn't He is a shot manager who takes decent championship players and turns them I to league two players Who doesn't know his best formation after being at the club for over ten years Who moans about having a squad that is too big yet signs players who can only get on the be ch for the reserves The blokes hasn't got a clue and needs to go Fans are voting with there feet
A Horse With No Name Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Players aren't playing for him he's a dead man walking At least Johnson had honour and resigned this **** is just milking us for wages like hunt and stewert while pretending to be a manager Sorry keef you can't manage your dinner **** off How on earth can you say Hunt and Stewart are milking us for wages. They are both training well and available to play, but Millen refuses to even put them on the bench.
Economou Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Louis Carey says in the programme today Keith will be a great manager, if given time !
shepton red Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 WRT resign or be sacked. Millen has a family, potentially a mortgage and the usual commitments. Put yourself in his shoes would you walk??? I certainly would not, and if I was in the shoes of Stewart, Hunt and the other high earner low performers the same would apply. The only way to get rid of Millen is the sack, a 3 year contract was a mistake that is biting us on the arse, as usual. I am a ST holder and could not be arsed today, until Millen is dismissed I may have to make myself otherwise engaged when we are at home. Time for the board to make a statement on the Millen situation, back him or sack him.
dezgimed Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Why was Maynard left back for a period in the 1st half?
Kenn Loyal Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I could see this coming last season, millen so say kept us up then, but now its coming home to roost.I stated last season i would not renew this season, and like a fool done so, but today was the last straw, until Millen is gone the ticket will be redundent. TAXI FOR MILLEN.
