BCFChris Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Does any other club in the football league have a puppet Chairman? Millen is firmly planted up Lansdown's a-hole and even if Sexstone did think Teflon's time was up, he's got no real (or perceived) say anyway. This club is a shambles and we are really in the shit!
farmeronecow Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Haha! Luv what you are saying and kinda agree, but think the happy clappers are gonna have a field day with this, good luck mate :-)
Red Robin Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 SL as said needs to get back over here and sort this out once and for all. SL is they only one that can address the situation. I don't give a monkeys about a new ground, let's get our house in order here first. We will not need 30000 seats in the 1st division, not to mention the possibility of the millions lost in revenue, plus the outrageous wages still being paid to the players. Anybody remember 1982. The unthinkable could be the thinkable if it is not rectified now, whilst there is time.
Abraham Romanovich Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I think the point is rather does or more probably did SL hold too much control, and to be honest he did. At least he recognises this by taking a backward step and putting the day to day running with CS and the Board. I think it does a great disservice to CS to call him a puppet and I am sure that SL welcomes his input. Ultimately when one person owns a business they can do what they want, but I get the impession that SL let his heart rule his head on several occasions and realises mistakes were made and wants to be less involved but he will still sanction all the big calls. SL was at the Brighton game, but my big fear is that like a few people on here he loses interest .
ciderup Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 You can see the strings! Sexstone is an employee of the club as is Pearce. Surely, CS and GP would have to justify the expense of removing KM to SL and SL makes the eventual decision? IMO he's a Chairman in name only as SL has the eventual vaeto on any decision made.
bs3 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 We also have a puppet Manager. A yes man who would not rock the boat just grateful to have a job.
Red Robin Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 If he was at the game, then he can see,he can sence the problems and atmosphere in the ground. He ain't stupid,he I'm sure is fully aware that there is a big problem. I have heard boos,I have heard voices raised in the crowd, but the fans have not united in showing a concern in front of the powers that be. Yes people not turning up shows that fans are not prepared to pay good money to watch the dross on show. However the hard core that are turning up must make the club aware they are not happy. ST holders are picking and choosing games that is very concerning. The bedrock of the clubs is crumbling,ONE MAN SL needs to deal with it,he gave KM the job,he needs to admit he made a mistake as he did with Tinnion.KM needs to be removed now as said countless times.
Guest Bristol18 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 CS probably feels as though he has been set up. SL is a succesful, asstute business man - you cannot blag your way to that level of wealth & success. I feel that SL saw the writing on the wall a fair while back, and has taken a back seat to avoid a majority of the flak being directed as CS now -seems more than a coincidence to me. Of course SL is still in control, his son sits on the board and will act as his ears, eyes & voice. Unfortunatly I reckon that Millen will stay until the end of the season, when a majority of contracts are up, and will then be replaced. A new proven manager will prefer coming into a club where he can spend / sign x amount of players, and make the team his own. Why whould a proven manager want to step into this place now, with no real money to spend / opportunities etc, and risk his reputation / future career?? The only way this will happen is if we offer stupid money to him, which aint going to happen. The cost if possible relegation / dropping of attendances / revenues etc needs to be weighed up against the points raised above
Red Robin Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 My reckoning is a drop down could see a repeat of 1982.
