Guest AlwayBelieves Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I loved this new attitude Keith, hopefully it gives a wake up call to the players because he is not happy! I think killa's interview came across he was P*ssed off with the result or maybe being taken off! But hopefully Milly gets right into the players this week and they come out fighting against HULL! COYR
BCFC Jordan Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Keith's interview actually persuaded me to give him at least next Saturday to prove me wrong.
InCider Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 This situation actually reminds me of when we had QPR and Reading at home last year and they were must-win games, or at least one win from the two if you get my drift! We now have Hull and Reading (again). I think they will be crucial in deciding whether Millen stays on. 2 losses and the board have a big decision to make and are draws going to be any good? Well, I just hope this is again our turning point and we can grab 4 points from the next 2. It sounds like we played well today despite the result, but results are becoming even more important and we can't afford to get stuck in the bottom 3. Come on City!

COYR You love this new attitude? I don't buy it I'm afraid, this isn't about how angry Keith can get between now and next Saturday, because quite frankly it doesn't matter how angry he gets it doesn't change the fact he makes bizarre tactical decisions and equally baffling substitutions. I would rather he said I'm throwing out the clipboard and installing common sense into the dressing room. That would impress me more. He's not an angry person, so even if he was angry today and next week, the week after nice Keith will come out to play. Millen has got to be positive in his selection and positive with his tactics, this has nothing to do with angry Keith. It reminds me of Toy Story when mr Potato heads missus packs his angry eyes for the trip.
glynriley Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Just watched the 2 interviews , the manager said he wants his players to be angry , well having seen Kilkenny I don't think there is any doubt he is angry. The manager also said he wants to see more agression on the pitch. I would give Kilkenny the armband on Satuday and see if he can transfer his own aggression into some of his team mates.
chinapig Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Keith has described us as naive and too nice, a description that might be applied to him. The question is whether he can change his personality and that of the team overnight and whether or not the players will believe in such a change if it is not really him. I suspect like many before him he has struggled in adapting from the assistant role where you are often the players' mate to the manager's role where you have to have a more ruthless streak. Hope his anger doesn't dissipate over the next few days,

Hope his anger doesn't dissipate over the next few days, Absolutely right, the players will surely see through any overnight change in personality, although I'm sure they've seen through him already. In the interview he initially compares the defending for the 2nd goal to academy football but then on 2nd thoughts, presumably because this will offend someone, decides it's comparable to youth football instead.
Guest AlwayBelieves Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 We'll see, i think he is now getting the drift that things have to change! Lets hope for two up front in next to home game, Because i can see us winning games with 2 up top and i can see Maynard Scoring more goals! But i do agree with 451 away from home, works nicely for our Good counter Attack!

spudski Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Don't be fooled by this public display of annoyance. Milley has been bollocking the team behind closed doors for months. Just because he comes across publicly as annoyed in an interview doesn't mean he hasn't been for some time. Fans are naive if they think he's just changed overnight. People have been publicly saying they don't like the way Milley comes across in interviews. It's probably been noted and hense the change. What is said publicly to appease the fans, is just that, for the fans benefit. We don't need to be gullable....
Puckle_red Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Having bumped into a few players around town and a few players who are now ex players...respect for Millen or even 'like' for Millen doesn't exist, I think it's like a school kid/crap teacher style relationship, no respect, no trust, laughed at behind his back. There is only one way to get the players playing and its not under Millen.
