Never to the dark side Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 in my opinion and another re-action to events after the horse has bolted reported on local radio on monday morning
City Loyal Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 IMO Pitman should be starting and also taking pens...best finisher we have! Not convinced Kilkenny would be the best option.
marmite Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Kilkenny would have to finish the matches in order to remain penalty taker or will need at least two different nominated Penalty Takers Kilkenny has thus far only played 90 mins 3 times out of 7 for us this season. Who is to blame for that!
Corsham Ed Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Who is to blame for that! Lee Johnson..
Will Rollason Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 in my opinion and another re-action to events after the horse has bolted reported on local radio on monday morning i'm a big fan of Pitman and think he is our most likely penalty taker.... however... Hindsight is wonderful isnt it. NM missed one against Leicester, good pen hit bar, of course he has to take the next one but his pen against Leeds was poor and KM has decided to look at it again.Whats the problem? Saying Pitman should have been on the pitch and would have taken it and scored is neither here nor there. he wasn't and might of scored/ might not.
red as fcuk Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I am the only one who wants Maynard to keep taking the penalties? Millen has now had 2 pretty big digs at NM over the last couple of weeks, it's bound to have an effect on his confidence, not to mention his decision not to sign a contract.
formerly known as ivan Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I'm guessing most people seen Rooney miss his penalty yesterday. And I bet if man u were given one next week he would take it again. If he missed that he would still be the first to pick the ball up the next time. It's easy to say someone else should be taking pens after a miss. What if pitman takes the next or kilkenny but misses? Do we move onto the next one again? Nicky can strike a ball as well as anyone and I would let him take the next one and tell him to just hit it. If he misses again though I will not be happy!

DaveF Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Rooney's penalty miss wasn't really his fault tho, he slipped. NM's penalty against Leeds was just an awful penalty.
Never to the dark side Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Not sure if I read that Rooney was wearing a new design of football boots

TRL Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I don't think maynard should take penalties at all. In his time here I believe he has missed more than he has scored, that is from memory, let me know if that is incorrect. Either way his strike rate from the spot is poor, he should never have been on penalty duty in the first place. It's all well and good being confident, makes no difference if you can't take penalties.
