Robbored Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 One very noticeable difference after Pitman and Taylor against Hull was how much pacier City started to play. They got the ball up the pitch far more quickly and started to push Hull further back. Up to then play had been pedestrian at times and enabled Hull to string some passes together. Some of the quick ball up the pitch direct but given the circumstances that was forgivable particularly as one led to Pitman header. City were far more effective when they upped to tempo an hopefully Millen realised that and will send the players out with instructions to start the same way from the off tonight. We'll see.................
City Loyal Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I'm buzzin for tonight! Love a midweek game and have a feeling we may score 2 this game
Red Rag Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thats it in a nut shell. The only time we have looked a half decent team over the last couple of years is playing at a high tempo. We are just not good enough to play the patient game and knock it around and create the opening. High tempo forces errors from the oposition. We are just to easy to play against at the moment with our tip tap football. The gate has been like a library, high tempo=atmosphere.

We'll see................. Yeah I agree. Up until the subs were made we were truely woeful again. Even though Hull never created a great deal, they passed and moved the ball a lot better and a lot quicker then us. Our movement is far to slow, and at times....non existent. Its not just Hull....you watch a Championship game on the TV, and the passing and movement is so much better then what City offer. I watched the Ipswich V Coventry game last week. Coventry were poor....yet i still thought they looked more fluent then us. Millen needs to encourage the players to go for it tonight. He HAS to win....a draw or defeat will not be good enough. Get the ball out wide and infront of Adomah, get Pitman and whoever working the flanks and get at them from the off. An early goal would settle any nerves and we COULD see a different City. Massive game for Millen tonight, as I said, I really do think he has to win this one to save his job
spudski Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 It happens all the time when we go behind. The last 10 mins is always frenetic. Why City can't start this way, i'll never know. Tbh, at kick off they never look fired up.

City Loyal Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Really hope its Pitman and Taylor...but will prob be Pitman and Maynard.
Robbored Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 It helped that Pitmans movement was much better than Maynards, and Taylor showed some intelligent link up play. Yep, that was a significant factor. The Hull defenders didn't know where he was half the time and that enabled City to play with more variety. He must , surely start tonight.
