Guest DJCasablanca Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Not sure how to describe this game as had it not been for Federici we would have been 5 or 6 up with 70 mins played, by then frankly it wouldnt have mattered had we conceded. Stayed behind after the game to voice my opinions with a few others @ Millen (didnt have the balls to come out ) Kalifa Cisse drove past, wound down his window to have a chat as we are near neighbours and talk often in the street. I asked him what had been going on, and he proceeded to explain that he is not injured, neither is spence or fontaine, and that he hasnt been playing because the management "dont like him" to use the exact phrase. Did see a very pissed off looking Guy Price storming through the car park though. I know the keyboard warriors on here will be calling me a bullshitter but ive heard it straight from the horses mouth. Im severly worried that there is something seriosuly wrong behind the scenes at BCFC, all the way up to board level something stinks. Thoughts? CB

We merely have a board who are, until tonight, staying loyal to a manager. Nothing in the board room is of concern to us except getting the right manager for the job. There is nothing like a string of results to get the confidence flowing; This will not happen for a while unless something changes in the dug out.
Guest DJCasablanca Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I think its time we all stopped deluding ourselves that everything is hunky dory, Id wager a fair amount that the stadium has been shelved. And why do we need to stay loyal to millen? he should have been sacked along with wilson. And as per the situation ala Hunt & Co, they should be in contention for first team action if they are fit and available. Millen to me comes across just like Johnson did, if you had a disagreement, you were screwed after that. Lee Trundle Hatgate anyone? im getting tired of this freeloader making a mockery of my club and shifting the blame on to anyone but himself. Hes clueless, end of story. CB

CB It seems if you fall out with the management then your face doesn't fit and you don't get a game...however good you are. Millen is putting his personal feelings ahead of what's right for the Club imho. He's learnt from GJ...so it's not a suprise. Cisse, Stewart and Hunt would all probably be playing for us, under a manager with the right credentials. Something is very wrong down at the Gate at the moment.

They should be playing for us aswell. Hunt to me has been the model professional and so has Cisse, the way they have been treated by the club is nothing short of disgusting. Your right about personal feelings and its pathetic, this is a second tier professional football club, not a downs league team with social cliques. Another thing thats bothering me is the love in with Kilkenny a lot of people have going on, hes just as woeful as johnson. You can tell hes a little pitbull with a bad attitude, woe betide any manager that drops him. Also remember reading a leeds fan warning us that he cleverly disguises himself as useful when all he does is recycle the ball among the centre backs and CM partner. CORRECT. CB
NickJ Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thoughts? You're more than just an ordinary fan aren't you.
Guest DJCasablanca Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 You're more than just an ordinary fan aren't you. Ive been following this club for years and have given thousands of pounds towards its running, I just get annoyed when there are problems which the eye can see, i live a stones throw from a lot of the players here and you can tell which ones are happy and which ones arent. Fact of the matter is Players like Cisse, Hunt, Ryce, Woolford, Kilkenny, Stead etc have all performed adequatly at this level or higher, the problem doesent lie with the players, its the man management and the lack of team spirit and unity that is pushing us ever closer to league 1 CB

Guest DJCasablanca Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 That's a very interesting thing to say. Why do you believe that to be the case? Sorry but can you see the club investing a substantial amount of money for something that will NOT get filled. I cant. And what i couldnt understand from day one was how we had all of these millions (even if 50% was generated by AG being sold off) Why are we not able to pay a couple of mil to offload these so called leeches from the club? Makes me laugh, if we invested £10 million , 1/9 of the construction cost of ashton vale in playing staff and a good manager, we would be pushing top 5 at the least. Whats so terribly wrong with ashton gate anyway if we're honest? Q.P.R are doing fine with loftus road, as did watford, wigan have a small stadium although yes its modern , and have you ever been to bloomfield road. Bugger the new stadium, lets sort out the on field issues first, and attract a crowd that can actually fill a stadium. CB

Millen is putting his personal feelings ahead of what's right for the Club imho. This ISN'T a defence of Milly, but isn't it like that in all jobs? It's certainly the case everywhere I've worked. Sad but true fact of life. Would really like to see Cisse get used. IMO Marv was our second worst player tonight. (after the obvious )

My view, you are right it starts from the top down. As demonstrated by our owners choice of managers, of which one out of 4 has been a success, initially, which is probably the same success rate as a monkey would achieve throwing darts into a board. The manager of course selects the players and its this bit I'm really struggling with. I was up at the Failand training ground on the weekend watching the district team my youngest is involved with, and during their game, Hunt, Cisse and Stewart walked past, at which point I thought, thats probably £30k pw walking past for having a kickabout. I think Coppell signed all of those, Millen has decided they arent good enough. Thats worrying enough to start with. But of Millen's signings, Woolford, Bolassie, Taylor, he doesnt think any of these are good enough to start a game. So why the **** have they been brought here, if the manager doesn't think his signings are any better than what we already have. You are right there is a lack of unity, and without doubt a lack of passion, that is very apparent. To be fair to Millen though, Pitman's shot against the bar could have been 3-0 and you would still be watching rather than posting.

On the contrary, the happy go luckies praising a 3-0 win to paper over the cracks in our foundations as a club would have made the situation worse for me CB

CB I think the argument goes that a new stadium lays the foundations for all that follows and bollocks to our history, our heritage, tradition, the buzz of Ashton Gate and its proximity to the traditional watering holes. New plastic seats in a shiny new bowl and all the Carlsberg you can drink will take us to the promised land and the regeneration of South Bristol is in any event wholly dependant on Ashton Vale, which is of course for the financial benefit of Bristol City and NOBODY else. The redevelopment of Ashton Gate is an impossibility unless your name is Sainsburys, even though not so long ago the Football Trust said otherwise. And what is so wrong with the Ricoh anyway? What is CB BTW.
