Barrs Court Red Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Good contacts but right now a proven manager is needed.
Rocky Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Good lord no, has he ever been a manager in his own right?
The Gasbuster Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 No. Let him keep his job at Sky Really miss Andy Gray now. Ray "My Word, oh Bless Him" Wilkins, is just painful on Sky.
Brizzle Jordan Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Ray Wilkins and Gary Neville both have boring voices to be honest.
bcfczd Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 No, a role like a No. 2 to Di Matteo would suit him more. He knows the game, But would probably be a better assisatant
fka dagest Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Why is there a poll specifically for Ray Wilkins? Does someone know something? Frankly a packet of crisps would me a more effective manager than Millen at the mo, so on that basis yes I'd support Wilkins. Mind you I'm pretty sure he's only ever failed in management.
numbeast Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Ray Wilkins is a very good coach and I think he'd do a reasonable job. My dream team would be Wilkins along side Gianfranco Zola. These two are not only well connected and respected but would play free flowing football. Zola as the public face Butch Wilkins the coaching side, I can but dream.

Yes thats who i would like he was badly treated at west ham and i reckon he would love another crack in england whether he would be interested is another question
Brizzle Jordan Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Zola done well at West Ham in his first season but i don't think he knows Championship football well enough and he doesn't come across as a man to ruffle a few feathers which is what i feel we are crying out for.

Silentone Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 No - he thinks Ashley Cole is a NICE GUY off the field.

Isawjonshaw Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Good lord no, has he ever been a manager in his own right? Fulham?
Andy Horsman Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Ray Wilkins is a lovely man, Sky Sports struck gold when they replaced Andy Gray with Mr W!! I voted no however because as much as I admire his punditry, he's not the man to succeed Mr Millen. Definitely not, no, no no
bcfcnick Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Brilliant coach & a very poor manager. If SL was going to spend to finally get the set-up right in advance of the new stadium then he would make a great number 2 but be a disaster as a number 1.
REDOXO Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Ray Wilkins...Has no succesful track record as a manager...We might as well stick with Millen!!!!! I would call Martin O'Neil and work down from there...You never know he might just be interested, he's been out of it for a while!
Frank Reynolds Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Ray Wilkins knows the game inside out. He may have a monotone voice, but so do plenty of others. I wouldn't be adverse to his appointment. He was a manager at Fulham and got them to the play-offs and was sacked basically because Keegan wanted the job and was a bigger name. I can't remember much about his stint at QPR as I was a kid.
Superjack Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Yes. Not my first choice. Not even in my 'top twenty'... ...but to be in my 'top thousand' is above Millen or Wigley. So yes.
DaveF Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Obviously knows a lot about football and is a good coach but I can't stand him on Sky Sports!! He's nearly as bad as Jamie Redknapp!
