Spike Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Would you as a fan say that Bristol City's constant stumbles are down to the board? People were calling for Millens head long ago as well as saying he shouldn't have been appointed when he was, now we're told that the backroom staff who are as much to blame as Millen himself will not be going anywhere and our number one target seems to be an unknown entity as far as "big name" goes. I'm wondering if the Coppell situation wasn't actually down to Coppell being a dick but in fact the board not wanting to let him create something great for us. I honestly can't see how we're going to avoid relegation when the only change we'll be making it replacing the manager as a well oiled machine is made up of many cogs, not just one big one and all we're doing is changing one cog. To me the back room staff need to go, a good manager with plenty of vision, experience and contacts needs to be brought in and he needs to be allowed to appoint his own staff. I love this club, I still wear my Bristol City shirt when I play football and I live in Cardiff but it's becoming a little hard to defend this club when it seems to be so determined to trip itself up and let the fans suffer for it's short comings.

Why start another thread with more of the same moans?- without this board and its predecessor we would not be where we are, which is as a championship club going through a rough patch. it is so easy to moan and criticise over every decision or issue and frankly there are so many armchair experts on here it is a wonder no one has stuck their hand up and put themselves forward. There are equally so many fans who say how much they love the club but then take every opportunity to run it down. That is perhaps the most depressing part of this current situation.

For asking a question and having an opinion? Equally I could say we have too many people willing to just watch this club no matter what happens to it without saying so much as "I don't like this". The bottom line is you may argue we would not be a Championship club without this board but I'd have as much right and strength in my argument to say another more adventurous board may have us in the Premier League by now. At the end of the day it's this board that gave Millen the full time job that has seen us go from a mid table team to bottom of the League so you can defend them all you like but there were plenty of fans who didn't want Millen to take the reigns in the first place. Just because someone has a job it doesn't mean they are the best at doing it, that goes for the board as well as the manager and the players.
Monkeh Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 board don't sign or pick the players the board don't chose tactics or play people out of postion, the board are here to run bristol city the business and to reduce the 12 million loss not to pick who plays in goal or tell the manager pitman must play left midfield So no i don't blame the board

Unfortunately the negativity is infectious- if people have a solution, want to get involved and change things thats one thing but simply saying I don't like this or that is hardly constructive, neither is it likely to change things for the better. but you are of course entitled to your opinion and i am equally entitled to be fed up with all those so eager to express their angst at every turn.
