PFree Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I appreciate these are challenging financial times BUT I honestly believe that you get what you pay for and that success happens for a reason, and it's largely down to management. There are many different reasons why a manager is successful and you could list many but proven experience and a strong track record does pay - we need a manager who comes with respect already in place, who has excellent tatical awareness, is known to play entertaining football, has good contacts in the game, but most importantly sets standards that make the players immediatly have to earn the right. All I'd say to the Board is please, don't sell us cheap this time, with the new stadium shortly arriving, a squad who are more than capable of keeping us in this division and an appropriate manager in place - we have the platform to really kick on - when we get this right, this might just be the best investment SL has ever made? I'd love to see Dave Jones here and really hope he is appointed but can't help feeling that the likes of Robins and others mentioned just don't feel right?
