Been havin a look on your site regarding robins, just thought I would share some my point of view of his time with us, he stuck by us during the days of 2 administrations, saved us from a 17point deduction, when noone gave us a chance, rumors are that he worked unpaid for 4-5 months, and very nearlymade the play offs

Following we were top of the league when th in-bred dingles came and poached him, I really believe along with many others that if he had stayed we would of gained promotion that season.

His signings have been excellent for the club with money being made on ALF and Rueben Reid to name a couple, and he wasn't afraid to push the younger players through either,

The season that he left we were playing excellent playing football, which changed to hoof ball under Moore but that is another story,

I wouldn't believe too much of what the dingles say, I work with many of them and they were gutted he left, and they are not playing like Brazil either, they reckon it is more like the rose and crown,

Off to Don Valley now to take 3 points off the brewers, good look for the rest of the season, and believe me when I say that if you get him he will get you out of the mess you are in and push your club forward definitely not backwards.

Thanks for that alternative perspective. I don't really understand the anti-Robins agenda on here. If he get's the job I'll support him regardless. Surely Robins managing the Robins makes sense? Anyway, good luck today. Whenever I think of Rotherham I think of Shaun Goater.

What's with the 'dingles'? I assume it's isn't anything to do with Emmerdale Farm?

Thanks for giving an outside opinion on Robins, I do believe he worked wonders at Rotherham and if he gets the City job i will support him but he wouldn't be my 1st choice.

He was mighty popular down here as a player for a bit,but i reckon most of our lot just need to see a manager who's a bit longer in the tooth. This is because whoever gets the job will be dodging bullets for a while

such is our form and collective feeling of depression. As pointed out previously,if he gets in,he'll get backed by most and face 'forum torture' from the remainder.

Your lot let me down for my Goals Galore bet last week but I've got back on the horse,so if you are 1 down late on,feel free to run on and slot one please mate.

Would guess that it's something to do with "dingleberries" - piles/haemorrhoids

"Dingles" seems to be used by various northern sides to describe their local rivals. Wigan RFC call St Helens' fans it.

I think it sort of has overtones of Pikeyness a la Emmerdale family.

Thanks for the input.

Got a lot of respect for your fans after the final day of the 06-07 season when you were already down and we clinched promotion, your fans stayed after the final whistle, applauded both teams and some Rotherham and City fans swapping shirts. Happy days.

Rotherham fans were top draw in my book when we got promoted. All the best to RUFC for this season

Thank you for bringing a positive opinion to this forum for once, I'm sure I'm not the only one who really appreciates it. I'd like to see Robins here more than anyone else, I think he had a pretty good (albeit short) loan spell with us once too. I'd quite like to see him here as a manager.

Also, as a number of city fans have already said, Rotherham are one of my favourite clubs, the way that you acted on the day we got promoted was outstanding, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see you guys promoted again. Thanks again, and best of luck in the rest of the season.

Thanks for the post.

Robbins is a fair way down my list but it's encouraging to read someone with first hand experience.

Yes, I'll never forget the roar when Noble's first went in!

"Areeee you watching Nottinghammmm!?" I'd forgotten that chant from that day, brings it back :city:

This suggests Robins would be an ideal appointment as he's used to working with no money, just effort.

Yes but don't be bloody realistic. We need someone who can get us further into debt by spending money we don't have and who hasn't been used to fighting relegation battles in the last 5 years.

Fair Play Mate, Shame you couldn't of beat rovers but ah well. You seem a committed Millers fan, which is a credit to yourself and Rotherham. I am one who isn't sure about robins but you have changed my mind. I am willing to give him a chance. What a great day promotion was, such a great atmosphere and what happened at the end with Rotherham supporters showed why we love football, great memories. Good Luck to the Millers for this season and beyond.
