Honestly, when was the last time we scored from a free kick? Apparently, we don't have a free kick specialist. But, frankly, all ELEVEN of our players - even blaaady Stewart - should be able to consistently hit the target from a shooting free kick. They are PROFESSIONAL football players! It's a basic skill they should have all practised thousands of times! I really can't understand why NONE of them are capable of getting a ball round a wall!

Crossing free-kicks... let's be honest, there's never, ever a plan is there. We just loop it slowlyyyy into the box and it is so, so, SO easy to defend against! (On this point - JCR crosses are just an even worse form of this). We never put it in with pace! WHY!? Even if one of our players managed to head a cross, there's never any power on the header and the keeper collects!

Corners... We have that one move that never works (along the floor, blocked shot) and the rest of the time it's just a floaty floaty ball again!

We're so, so predictable! Odds are, you'll win at least 1 or 2 "promising" free kicks a game - why aren't we working day in day out on them! And if we are....then god help us...

Honestly, when was the last time we scored from a free kick? Maynard Vs Leicester

It's been years since we were any good at set pieces, this simply sums our whole attacking play up, no quality on the final ball.

This is just one aspect of our current game that I expect McInnes and Docherty to improve massively.

And I would add thow ins where we never have a clue what to do. Marv even threw direct to a Brum player yesterday because there was no red shirt in sight.

teamss do not like defending set pieces when there is pace on the ball.

all of citys free kicks/corners are just chipped in, its so easy for the keeper/defenders to clear

its simple really

I have to totally agree with you on this.

If you watch the ball from JCR (you don't even have to watch closely as the ball is moving so sloooooow), you can actually see the backspin on it as it's traveling through the air !!

Don't get me wrong, that's a great ball to play into the channels so that the ball holds up for a striker to run onto, but when you're crossing into the box, it's absolutely useless.
