Having endured the first third of the season what has been particularly frustrating is that bar yesterday most teams we have played have not been that spectacular -- and even yesterday Birmingham were very efficient but no great shakes. The previous two games I believe we were the better footballing side but we have such a soft underbelly other teams are so wise to that and mercilessly exploit it.

The difference however between us and many other teams especially those in the top half of the league is our naivety, inexperience call it what you will. We do i believe have the skill -- but whereas others have a number of quality players who have had good experience at the highest level every single player in our team has had little or no experience of pressure needed to take control and steady things down. We do not have the nous on how to take control of a game. We desperately need one or two players who can calm and encourage those around them and encourage and lead on the field. Admittedly this is easier said than done -- we do not want any players in their late 20's early 30's coming to the retireme

nt home we have at AG. We need someone who still has great passion and thirst but who has had some time in the prem even if they have not set it alight. Sadly I suspect they have already all been snapped up but let's hope DM through his contacts can pull someone in very soon and before the cause for this season is lost.
