Notable absentees were:- Mcinnes, Docherty, Naylor, Maynard, Stead and James. Hunt trained with the first team squad...Ribeiro with the reserves.

First week of training under a new manager everyone will be putting the extra 10 percent in if not there a disgrace, i hope Cisse, Hunt and others have had a good chat with the manager and if he plays Hunt at RB Saturday we as fans forget previous and get behind the players he picks.

Was Wigley taking it?

Yes. A couple of hours of fast and furious games of 7 or 8 a side on half the pitch plus passing and shooting practice in between.

Maybe the gaffer and his assistant have gone off to watch one of tonights games.

Yes they had to leave Bristol to go to Bolton at 11.00am eight hour journey that, if they are going there i think they may have been at training being less than a week since they came here, madness.

Chill, perhaps they've got stuff to do back in jockland!

Then again it may be a "pre-booked" holiday!:shocking:

It only takes 4 hours tops to get from South West to Bolton.

I was going to query the fact it took 8 hours! Wondered if there was another Bolton that we were talking about!!

Possibility of both being at Ashton Gate or one taking a leak and one having breakfast meeting?

Why do people get all up their nostrils about the tiny minutae of running a football club. Go get a life.

Er...I thought that was why we came on this forum in the first place.

Go get a life.

players aren't always out on the pitch, some could be in the pool doing mus work some could be in the gym doing weights some could be with the physio,

As for the new management team I expect they are living out of a hotel at the moment so my have to take time away from taking training to go house hunting move familys sort out new schools for kids etc...

As we don't have a game until sat they may even be scouting or with the chairman at ashton gate discussing what players are needed

orrrright orrright let me put it another way...... to criticise the minutae for the sake of it? thats why 'we' are here? ... sorry... i think not. ;)

Oh dear. On the manager and his assistant's back after one game. A new record surely?

Chill out and let them get on with their jobs - for all you know they could've been meeting a potential loan signing. I know times are bad but some people really do try and find a scandal in EVERYTHING. :mf_sleep:

If you were there this morning Grumpy, does that mean they have relaxed the ban on fans watching training ? Or do you have special privileges ?

During GJ's time I went up to the (former) training ground (Clifton College playing fields) and GJ pulled up in his Merc as I was walking up the drive and he said "sorry no fans allowed at training".

When I asked why not, he said too many fans were taking pictures of players in training and sending them to fans of the next club we were playing so that they would have a good idea of who was going to be in the squad.

Sounded unlikely to me then and so can any of us turn up at Failand these days for morning training is what I want to know.

This is what I meant by questioning the management team already. Questioning why they might be absent after only a week at the club.

I imagine they're working bloody hard, whatever it is they're doing. Sorry, I'm probably over-reacting but I think we should just let them get on with it at the moment and see what happens - rather than picking the bones out of them not being visible on the training pitch this morning. They could've been anywhere, like others have said.

Let's just what happens and have a bit of faith in the new men. Saturday can't come quick enough.

McInnes and Docherty are/were back in Scotland, as they called in to McDiarmid Park this afternoon to properly say goodbye to the staff at the stadium. Imagine they are just tidying up a few loose ends before heading back down for the more important training sessions ahead of the Barnsley game.

These guys work hard and I'm sure would have been at training if they could.

How do we know the original poster isn't a attention seeker ? Is this factual ? If so it could be for 101 reasons, shocking post either way

Sorry, I must be too thick to understand your post. What is shocking? I was just posting what I saw this morning. All I said was that some people were not there. I'm sorry if you can't read properly but that is not my problem.

I didn't see Adomah, Kilkenny, JCR, Carey, Pitman or Bolasie at the training ground today.

Well, actually I didn't see anyone because I wasn't there.

Oh, and I don't think anyone is questioning the management commitment, just praying that they're off searching talent elsewhere. :fingerscrossed:

Cheer up Grumpy.

You must've known your post would get this kind of response. Just out of interest can general public view BCFC training, I honestly don't know?

I don't think the public are allowed in. Sometimes, when driving past, I see security staff next to the changing rooms...............but I will send you a message :whistle2:

Under Johnson I was able to take a group of students to watch the first bit of training - but when they set up for the match - it was agreed that we would leave.

It is not easy to get into training, simply because its miles away from the car park and you have to stop and walk a fair way. It might be easier this week as its half term. I would say you can't simply turn up.

I saw a guy I know tonight who had literally just collected his son from the training ground as he plays for one of our youth teams. He said that the first team were still there and that it looked like they were being worked hard. I have never been to training personally and know little about it, but I believed they only trained in the mornings usually, but they were definitely there late afternoon/early evening today. Is that normal? Perhaps it's normal, if you are bottom of the league! I didn't get any insight apart from what is stated above, but it's nice to know that they are all putting in some hard graft.

My son was at the academy for a while and there is no way the public are allowed in. I am surprised Failand isn't like many other academy/training grounds with barrier access. You can just drive in as far as I am aware at any time. Once in, there are security all around and you are watched.

The first team train on a pitch furthest away, as previously mentioned, and you cannot see it from the road as there are a few hedges sectioning off the rest of the ground. The pitch they train on is quality and no one is allowed near it.

From my understanding there will be more ground development at Failand soon.

You can watch from the Plantation woods quite easily, the pitch is right next to the woods.I often take the dog for a walk through the Plantation and stop and watch for a bit.

The Players and Management know you are watching and do not take any notice.
