I was there that day! What an atmosphere there was. I must admit I do miss the derbies, perhaps we will get them in the FA Cup.......oh wait wouldn't that mean they would have to get through the first two rounds before that could happen? Oh well, never mind!!

City's first season back after 2 years in the 4th division and we finished 5th. Current Prem teams Bolton, Wigan and Swansea were all in the lower end of that table whilst Burnley dropped into the 4th. 3 teams now in the Conference were also in Div 3 that season. . In August 1984, Alan Walsh was signed and forthe next four seasons would be the club's top scorer with tallies of 26, 21, 21and 15.

OMG I remember that! Those days in the open end standing with Big Merv! Interesting that the TV didnt hide the chants - ie "you're going get your F-ken head kicked in!"
