BS4 on Tour... Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Good evening all! I think we all agree it has been a great day to be a Bristol City fan. Over the last few weeks I have stayed silent throughout all the 'looking for a new manager' speculation and rumour although I am very good friends with a guy who has worked with Hibs, Dunfermline, Raith, Brechin, Livingston and Anerdeen Football Clubs and he is obviously very well connected when it comes to Scottish football. He had a fair idea that Mr McInnes would be our new manager and he really rates him and says he is seen throughout the football fraternity as being potentially an incredible football manager in the future. So, I feel very lucky to have Deggsy in charge of the mighty Reds and I found myself looking forward to how our mid to long term future might look. A few years ago I spent a few days in Rome and I went to see the Olympic Stadium shared by Lazio and Roma. What struck me was the park outside of the ground which had statues of ex players from both clubs in the walk up to the ground. The fans stopped to look at the past players with so much love and respect - it was great. In the next few years I would LOVE to see City in a superb, brand new stadium (although I would miss AG like mad!) with a bright, young Scottish manager (DM) in charge of a vibrant, motivated and successful squad. I would also love to walk to the ground on match days past statues of John Atyeo, Chris Garland, Paul Cheesley, Tom Ritchie, Gerry Gow, the Ashton Gate 8, Rob Newman, Andy Llewellyn, Alan Walsh, Glyn Riley, Brian Tinnion, Louis Carey and Julian Watts (only joking about Watts!!). I absolutely hate players who clearly don't care about our club and I may be naive to think that all City players should care passionately. I bumped into Lee Peacock on hols a few years ago and he admitted that all he wanted to do was get as many transfers as possible so he could pocket a fair few signing on fees, Yep - that's why i support the badge and the club - not the players (except those listed above who to me are legends!) So, all i want is a new ground, Derek McInnes as the brightest manager around in charge of a successful club which pays homage to past legends. Am i allowed to dream or will this never happen? Keep the faith!
Brizzle Jordan Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I dream about Bristol City moving into a new stadium in 3 years time (simalar to Brightons stadium) and having Del in charge to guide us to the premier league playing a special brand of possession football.
Brizzle Jordan Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I agree with all of that on tour, hate the money grabbing players who don't care for the shirt, and plus I have a good feeling about our new man in charge, a real football type with a sense of how to set up a team on the pitch, someone who will not rest on his Laurels. ThankGod we have him now and not Coppell. I agree, I am nothing but confident now we have Del in charge. I hope he's around for the long term though.
mightyreds89 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Am I the only one who thinks apart from one stand Brightons grounds horrible!!!
