old_eastender
Playmaking, midfield meastro URGENTLY needed on loan... Can't say I'm impressed by talks of Jason Scotland coming in (another kick in the balls for Brett if he does). It's not strikers we need, especially with Ryan Taylor coming back to fitness too, but it's worrying that it seems that Del does not recognise the need for what most fans seem to agree we are missing - someone to make things happen from midfield. screech
If the quality of player isn't in this country then you have to shop elsewhere, as the latest fad in this country is 451 I guess our midfield is safe from getting a creative central midfielder in anytime soon. GrahamC
Surely that was what we signed Kilkenny to do? Also Del has also brought in Pearson and whatever we think of them, we also have Elliott, Cisse and Skuse on the payroll. That's 5 central midfielders, who will all be on decent wages, so there's no way I can see another one arriving this season.
beaverface
Who's to say Del didn't put an offer in for five different midfield play makers and they all turned us down and yet that one tentative offer for a striker came off?
old_eastender
From reports seems main difference between us and Hull yesterday was they had Robert Koren, made two scored one, ran the game from midfield. Until we get a 'Robert Koren' type of our own, we will continue to struggle no matter how many defenders or strikers we get in.
bangers
We should NEVER of signed Kilkenny......part of the problem earlier in the season was we played a formation TO SUIT HIM. We need a strong, creative, goal-scoring midfielder......there are plenty about.....especially in the loan market. As for wages, sorry, but for the remainder of this season we need to push out, even if we lose money......we cannot afford relegation.
