Guest leetrundlesrightfoot
having attended the gash game, and tonight, the 1 major difference i see is the fitness of our players. midfielders especially look much fitter than previous seasons. morris ran the game for 60 mins tonight, didnt give it away, was always available, barked instructions out and was superb on the ball- just what we were missing. alongside him, pearson and skuse worked hard, and i can see morris + 2 from skuse/marv/pearson/killkenny being a decent foil for us in the middle. further forward albert was fantastic when pushed alongside stead- who as usual was tireless in his efforts. anderson looked sharp and bright when he came on, and all of sudden im getting carried away thin king we have a decent looking squad. sadly, that ball winning cb is missing, fontaine is clearly rated by del- im not 100% convinced he is the as good as many beleieve but each to there own. surprised james wilson didnt get a start tonight along side fonts. foster looked good 1st half, and Cunningham seems a solid consistent lb (thank god) i dont see buzsacky as someone we desperatly need, but a quick pacy striker would be lovely to add. ciderbeans
We seem much better going forward and much more solid on either flank at the back. We definately need a pacy striker and possibly the attacking midfielder as I don't think pearson can cut it. Its been well documented that we need a new centre back. All in all, a new spine of the team is needed. I hope del can deliver.
123456789000
Haven't managed to get to a pre-season game yet, but after all the rave reviews of Morris and knowing what all the others can do I'm happy to go into the season with our midfield. Just the CB and ST need IMO and we'll have a great season.
Somerset_Sam
Much better than the last pre season, but I think we are still a central defender and goal scorer away from a better season than last season.
sglosbcfc
I have been very impressed with what I have seen so far. I think we will finish in a much improved position, I will say 12th because that puts us in the top half. We are organised, pacy and tenacious. We also have a number of skilful players in our ranks. Club and Country
Pre season or just squad in general has made me think we will be anywhere between 16th-10th for most of the season, one or two more quality additions could see us top half No need to get carried away though, hopefully del is here for the long haul and we can give him time
Martyn Hocking
Pre-season has been so much more positive this year than in the last two, I'm feeling really confident that we won't make our usual dire start to the season proper. Copout's Swedish folly and Millen's uninspiring friendly results last year both translated into teams that were low on confidence and short of goals. Bring on Gillingham. Mid table based on the current team and given a couple of players now or in Jan could go on a run to sneak the play offs. Or is that just wishful thinking? One Team In Keynsham
Last time I went to a pre-season game we had signed Stewart and Bridges, and put 6 or 7 past Exeter. Drove back to Bristol full of optimism and then it all went wrong. As such, I take all results with a pinch of salt. That said, squad fitness is another matter, and if we are looking in good shape and up for it, that is heartening.
I Am A Cider Drinker
As has been mentioned before and by the targets we are supposed to be looking at (think we were defo in for gerrard and possibly ayala) a ball winning cb is a MUST to play alongside fonts and del will probably pull one out of the bag sometime before gillingham. not so sure we are desperate for a pacey striker as can see adomah playing where he did with stead a bit more often but we could see a loanee for that position rather than anything permanent just yet. So we DEFINITELY need a strong CB and a pacey striker and 'flair' type midfielder could possibly be in on loan. would be very happy with that and il be content and confident with a mid table target
Monkeh
as the squad we have now I'm sticking with the same prediction i make every season and thats 10th
David Brent
as the squad we have now I'm sticking with the same prediction i make every season and thats 10th You went for 10th last season??? Surely we look better this time around? Pre-season, from what i've seen, has been encouraging. The players look very fit at this stage and we could all make a reasonable attempt at naming Del's starting line-up. I'll refrain from making a prediction on position but i'm more hopeful that we won't be playing catch up from the moment the new season kicks off. These boys look raring to go... I don't think that a relegation battle will be on the cards anyway......

OldlandReddies
Midfield sorted (We must keep Albert). Desperately need 20 goal a season striker as even in these pre-season games we have missed several sitters. Not so sure we need a CB. If Wilson agrees to sign then that'll do for me, he oozes class. We deffo look much fitter at this stage than we have been for many a year. Feeling very optimistic for the season ahead.
