Talladira Red
I wonder how many editors are thinking of just automatically adding a 0 after our name to save them some time this season. Said it last year, dont need to say it again this year. We dont have a goal scorer in our team who will get to 10. Pitman + Stead = 12 between them Taylor = who Albert = wont be on 10 by January when we sell him. Cant think of anyone else. Sounds like Stead missed a couple of half chances again on Saturday but thats probably ok as he'll tweat something about our brilliant support, pump his fist a few times, go home and drink Cider and will be forgiven. Until then, James Alexander Gordon might as well get used to - Bristol City 0.

This has been covered in most threads recently and really didn't need a new negative thread. We lost an away game against some tough opposition, that's going to happen whoever you are. Club and Country
Don't blame stead, he created two chances from nothing on sat and did well with them both, As someone said in another thread, not many strikers would be able to score in this team, As far as I'm concerned we created one goal scoring opportunity against forest, andersons header across the 6 yard box, and NO ONE was anywhere near it
Talladira Red
Why, because I'm fed up with waking up every Sunday morning to check the overnight footy scores to read Bristol City 0 and wanted to have a whinge about it. Never said it was ground breaking! Then I come on here and read we're talking to x we're talking to y and nothin ever happens. We sold the best striker weve had at the gate for years and still haven't replaced him and yet that seems to be acceptable, even though we are Bristol City 0. Whinge over, pass the pills! Talladira Red
My comment isn't about two games, it was no different last year and probably the year before that. Why have we battled relegation for the last two years? When we're we last winning games by more than 1 goal? Why do you think our attendance is dropping (bit of a guess on that one but I assume it is) Because we don't score goals. Because we don't score goals. Because we don't score goals. When did we last have a 20plus goal scorer in our team? Mickey when fit, Lita before him....I can't remember. I had hoped Del would have worked out that goals win games. But that's ok, we've got a new flag and a group of players who are more skilled in social media than goal scoring....we'll be alright. And I'm the idiot! In my view we don't score goals because we lack a decent centre half. It sucks our full backs and central midfielders further back down the pitch, and makes them more afraid to get forward and give support. it also means opposition strikers have less of a need for support from their full backs and midfielders, so there's less space for our midfield to exploit. Two sides to the same coin I guess. But I'd still say that if we want to start getting good chances, we need a new centre back.
LondonBristolian
I had hoped Del would have worked out that goals win games. But that's ok, we've got a new flag and a group of players who are more skilled in social media than goal scoring....we'll be alright. And I'm the idiot! Last season, Del brought in a striker on loan with a good scoring record at Birmingham and this year he's been trying to bring in one or two strikers (and it's been reported over the weekend he may just have succeeded). So he clearly does know we need a striker so I'm not really sure why you seem to think he doesn't. There's also approximately 57 000 threads on here about how we need to sign a striker, or about strikers we might sign, so I'm not sure why you didn't post in one of those rather than start a new thread for this particular piece of insight. More generally, there's still nearly two weeks still the transfer window closes and I'm not sure why fans want us to rush to sign a striker - any striker - rather than be patient and make sure we get the right one. The bottom line is every team in the league wants a 20 goal a season striker but there's not that many about and they command high wages. It sometimes feels like people think we can just magic up a brilliant goalscorer from thin air...
TRL
He is quite right. Look at our goals column since we have been in this division. Look at the combined for and against column, I think our best is 0 . Now clearly its not always 0. But what ever it is, our goal scoring problems have been there for all to see since we joined the champ. God only knows where we would have been the year maynard was smacking them in from all angles

MC RISK77
agree with opening poster its almost inevitable that when we do score we will not score more than a 1 or 2 goals a game if that, we are a boring team to watch with very little flair, bar the occasional run from adomah, no creativity, and a woeful set of strikers. Yes mcinnes is looking to bring a couple in but personally neither have outstanding goalscoring records at this level and dont look like 20 goal a season strikers which we will desperately need this year. Last season two strikers scored 20 goals in the Championship and two others came close. Three of those played for promoted teams and the other one we were linked with but couldn't afford. Why does every supporter of every club think it's so easy to go out and get a 20 goal a season striker when barely any club actually has one?
