Robbored
What a pleasant surprise to see a City team play some attacking football, defend solidly and score 4 goals. I can't remember the last time I left AG feeling on a high like tonight. Every man played well tonight. The front two bothered Palace all night with their movement and physicality and both were well deserving of their goals. It was predicted that Woolford would come good and he was also terrific tonight and his goal was sublimely taken. Albert was quite for long periods but scored a great goal from distance Both full back were also fantastic and restricted the nifty Palace forwards to very little. Cunningham in particular looked a class act. Pearson ans Kolo Skusey bossed the midfield with Carey and Fontaine looking very solid in defence. Even Heaton got in on the act with a neat save. It was very refreshing to see a City team go out and attack from the start, get two up but still push on looking to kill the game off. I don't think I've seen such a proactive attacking performance since the days of Danny Wilson. City never sat back at all. Well done to McInnes and his boys. Are you a bit happier about some of his signings now then? And what about the Baldock signing? Only jesting, certainly a good performance and encouraging signs. I am still hopeful of a top half finish and with a decent cb on board top 10 maybe. Go on city.

Our team compared to last season is so much better imo, better prepared from a good pre-season, much better personnel and seemingly a much better spirit and confidence in the group. Tom Heaton - Great keeper at this level Mark Wilson - Very accomplished player Greg Cunningham - Class act like you said and is only 21 Jody Morris - Good player no doubt but not sure how many minutes he will get Paul Anderson - Was always decent at Forest and offers us alot more strength on the left Steve Davies - Classy player Sam Baldock - Top class finisher and only 23 Centre Back - Hopefully a dominant one to complete the squad. Bristol City are alive and kicking and teams need to beware of us imo.
Frenchay Red
Got to endorse this view. What a difference from the dross served up last Tuesday! I don't know how we will do this season or where we will finish, but I almost don't care if we play like we did tonight on a regular basis. It was entertaining, exciting and we played some good football and fought for everything. Thoroughly enjoyed the match from start to finish. More of the same please! We only saw Heaton and Cunningham play a full 90mins. All the others were last seasons players.
Guest Red Si
Can only endorse what Robbered has posted. Great performance. New players looked calm and assured, liked the firmness Heaton ordered the defence about. McInnes must have put them through a tough pre season as they looked really fit. Woolford first half was a man possessed. He tracked back and was strong in tackling, topped off with a sublime goal. We must play at this tempo Saturday. nickolas
Fast flowing football, strong challenging, harrying and chasing the opponents, goals, solid defending - what a difference!!! Dont want to get carried away but thats a great start. Can i just say a massive well done with ambition of the board with the davies/baldock signings. Its just a shame that bristol football fans cant and wont support a team. 12221 for our first league game at home? Cheaper tickets than ever, exciting signings, yet loads of empty seats. Im only glad i support my team and dont just turn up when things may be going well. Tonights crown is why FFP will affect us more than most. Thats a shocking crowd. Pretty sure that Woolford bloke is a new signing. Agree with every word of the original post - the best perfomance I've seen for a long time. Shame only 12,300 saw it, but at this rate it's only a matter of time before gates improve.
Guest Sidebet
I remember reading some people asking if DM was the right man for the job last tuesday at 21:55. Just goes to show how fickle some fans can be. DM Has proved he has the ability to bring in quality players, not rush things, and more importantly he has served us 90 minutes of football tonight that not many people thought they would see. All credit to the players and manager and lets hope things only get better from here.
