One of the guys that I genuinely thought had a bright future and, naturally now probably greater through an illicit means, has just defected along with how many?... 2 others. Unbelievable. Perhaps not but perhaps more unbelievable is seeing the remaining first team draw 1-1 with Panama at the Pedro Marrero Stadium in a world cup qualifier and with more Panamanian supporters than Cuban. My quest to find a Cuban gem is foundering on the rocks of the Malecon. Oh well, back to my cigar. The only aspect of this story that made me laugh was Blatter sticking his nose in by saying I cannot let this rest; no doubt he fancies a jolly to Havana and this is his opening gambit.. just watch.
