Guest JET will tear you apart

We all sing but as you are so close to away fans you feel you have to be better than them so sing louder unlike us in Atyeo as we are furthest away so don't need to sing as louder but I applaud you for your singing and involvement of producing atmosphere but we still sing

How about getting a life and stop moaning about the fans in the other stands?

The Wedlock does make a lot of noise but, as had been said on numerous occasions, the noise in the Wedlock sounds a lot louder to those standing there than in other parts of the ground.

Those, for example, in the Atyeo also make a noise that sounds louder to them than to those in other stands. The difference is the other 3 stands don't have this "we are the only true supporters" attitude

Good post. The other thing that the current east end incumbents seem to forget is that most have us have been there, done that. I grew up on the east end but I'm in my mid 40's now, I've gone past the singing for 90 minutes and shouting myself hoarse every week. In 20-30 years there will be a set of fans who think they're the mutts nuts and will be labelling the likes of the OP as boring.

Well said.

The Atyeo is not as bad as the EE makes out anyway...

In most grounds there is always one stand where the fan's tend to be more vocal - usually the closest to the away fans stand.

I commend the EE on it's singing and overall commitment, some of the artwork is interesting as well.

However some of the younger 'ultras' are becoming a little tiresome with their 'elitism', it can be a little tiresome at times.

For every middle age 'happy clapper' in the Atyeo, there is a 'pwoper nawty' teenaged Frankie Fryer in the EE.

But we were all young and a bit silly once, so live and let live.

Was yesterday that week?

Generally get out sung by Atyeo H block anyway,

Well said Bowie. She's probably still drunk from all that Natch she bought with her JSA! Either that or shes just pissy about her sore knuckles from all that dragging on the floor!

Complete detritus arent they mate.

Stop signing? All bar a couple of anti gash songs early doors every other week the EE is as quiet as the rest of the stands.

Agree with this. Sat in the Williams last season ans apart from some songs at the start, some during, and one near the end, it was dead, dead quiet, I remember thinking at the time 'apart from the lack of JSA claimants, this is just like the east end this is',

If you were all that special , you wouldn't need to have your tickets checked twice.

Hang on so is getting checked twice the norm, or not the norm thus making it special? Did you type this wrong and mean to put 'would need to have your tickets checked twice'? Poorly thought out post aside, I cant help but think I've miseed out somewhere and probably not that special. Or am I?

Crazy days Horse, I'll have to think it through whilst polishing my medal and trying to count my JSA money.

Bowie, I still need a link on how to claim this. Can you pm me it please mate.

I moved my season ticket from the Dolman to the East End for this season for financial reasons. Missed the first game but have to say that the atmosphere is better than I thought. I take my kids (9 and 7) and they certainly enjoyed it more than the Dolman. They seemed to feel that they were part of the game rather than just observing it.

People in the east end do think they are a lot better than they actually are.

No they dont. They think the same as most other fans and are committed and loyal like all other fans. Those in the east end may express themselves differently but none are better. The most loyal fans I personally know sit in the Williams. Threads like this piss me off from all sides

Such a silly thread does it really matter who sings the loudest, respect to everyone who makes an effort I heared all sides of the ground at various times singing yesterday,

Yes they do.

"We are the eastenders, we should get the whole stand for a friendly bla bla bla".

They always say they are the loudest, how the out sing away fans, how the club is always against them etc.

In reality they aren't always the loudest, are very quiet for large parts of the game, very rarely out sing the away fans.

No they don't. The majority are quite young, maybe like the op, and dont yet understand that following footbal is about many different things. I was guilty of this when I was younger, but you mature.

The people who truly think they are better are those like Bowie with ridiculous posts like the one in this thread http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/156613-put-rovers-in-the-atyeo/ which only serve to insult and wind up fellow fans.

Even if he's on a wind up, why bother?

If people in the EE want others to join in perhaps they could leave out the embarrassing songs like "stand up if you hate the gas" and "fight fight" etc. Those songs are only really of interest to hormonal teenagers.

I'd love the whole stadium to be really noisy but drums and a superfan contest aren't the way to do it. Get some positive support going and you might get more of a response out of the other stands.

Agree but again your suggesting the EE come up with the solution. It's the smallest group of home support in the ground.

How about we take the lead from the largest bank of home support for a change?

I stand in the Eastend and I don't think I'm a better fan than anybody else in the other 3 stands. Now I bet that's ****** up a few of your opinions that we ALL think we're better!

Is there even a God? What is the meaning of life? Am I picture? What is love? Baby don't hurt me. Oh lord, I have been changed. I know so little.

I think that fans may feel that the more/ louder you sing or chant then the more you are doing to try and raise the players efforts therefor possibly changing the result. You can support your club by spending money with them and also singing and chanting, if you don't want to sing that's fine but I don't think we should underestimate how much a great atmosphere can lift the team, so no matter where you sit if you feel like singing lets do it and get behind the team.

Can we just agree the support is terrible in every stand and in fact the whole of AG is a morgue and had been got some time.

I believe the above post is the only solution to a question that be compared with;

How big is space?

What was first chicken or egg?

Why does Neil Kilkenny start for City?

Nobody can give a definitive answer, not even the best of us.

I've posted about this before, happy to say it again.

I grew up in the East End when it was in its pomp - terracing and non-stop noise and vociferous backing whatever the game situation and whoever the opposition were.

I applaud the EE guys and gals who now who do a good job at trying to create an atmosphere and are obviously right behind the boys.

But you must accept that you sound louder to yourselves than the rest of the ground and other sections of The Gate also do a good job in trying to create an atmosphere.

The days when we had the whole East End all standing are distant, you do a great job but please don't think you are somehow on a different level than the rest of The Gate, we are all in it together now....
