Guest stroudred
just a few questions about CATS really, i never use them as normally just catch the train and sometimes drive, but thinking of using the CATS a lot more this season. i was wandering can you drink on the CATS?, whats it like travelling on them? and can you just go to Ashton gate and pay in cash on the morning of the match without like ringing up beforehand to book a seat? any help appreciated cheers guys. Stick with the train mate, much more relaxing with a few tinnies. CATS is like a school trip.
North London Red
I used to use CATS a lot many years ago, before I moved to London. They get the job done and it's often far, far cheaper than travelling by train - plus they depart pretty much straight after the final whistle (well, as soon as everyone is on board) and with frequent police escorts on to the motorway, you're often away from the ground and on the way back to Bristol very quickly. Met some interesting characters on CATS over the years including a few who hadn't missed a game home or away for over 20 years (including Anglo Italian cup). The downsides are (a) you can't drink (b) you'll have a 45 minute stop in a service station on the way there (more often than not, Tamworth services if we're playing in the north west) © they often used to overestimate how long it took to get to the destination, I remember once arriving at Saltergate about 3 and a half hours before kick off, and (d) Coach 1, as pointed out above, is an 'experience' - think Little Britain or League of Gentlemen ('this is a local coach for local people...'). Used to use CATS in my younger days but now get the train for most away games, only use CATS as a last resort for midweek games up north somewhere. Its not too bad I suppose, just standard official supporters travel.
Welcome To The Jungle
Despite what people say, they are the cheapest way to travel except for driving. Straight to the ground, straight back

WTFiGO!?!
It's a bit like using National Express coach company instead of National Rail. Cheaper, but boring as f###.

If you are travelling alone, bring a book/paper/magazine, your music and some grub and before you know it you will be there.....unless it is Carlisle. Briz
Got put on coach 1 against MK Dons, was the same as coach 2, 3 and 4. But coach 1 was abit louder as in speaking, no singing on any of the coaches, and cheap, horrible tea and coffee

pride of the west
Coach 1 is an experience but they are all die hards so you have to give them credit for that. just dont sit in any seat that is usually taken by a regular. Otherwise it turns into a scene from something out of 28 days later and you wont get offered any murray mints or clear fruits doing the rounds. I have experienced the stare and ignoring treatment first hand having made that very mistake.
