Tales From The Family Club

Had 3 blokes in front of us who spent the whole game calling Harrison a "lazy ****" and the whole game abusing players, other fans and then at the end of the match going up to the side of the pitch and shouted more abuse at the players. When one of the guys in my ground asked for them to "remain seated as he couldn't see" as they were standing up every 20 secs to shout abuse at any played who came close and then turned round and gave a load of abuse to rest of my group including the 3 women. Then told us all to **** off at full time. They weren't wearing any colours and didn't sing Irene or any other songs during the game and only interested in shouting abuse and having a punch up. Even after Harrison was taken off they were shouting at Hunter calling him "that fat lazy **** Harrison". After checkin with my mate that Harrison had been taken off the abusers in front of me turned round and said "why does it make any difference they're both the same colour". We suppose to be supporters supporting the team faithful and true but these guys annoyed all of our group and left a massive bitter taste in our mouths after the match.

Taken from the Rovers forum about the game at Plymouth yesterday -

Those fantastic fans at Bristol Rovers strike again. Verbally abusing their own players, women and racially abusing their own players. But hang on a minute, they didn't have colours on so they were probably pesky City fans trying to damage the good name of the Gas again.

Yes but we don't continually condemn our rivals whilst making out we are a family club without any unsavoury elements.

The Robins of Bristol have been recognised as the Football League's friendliest club. The warm, family focused welcome begins on the club's website with a video guide by City legend Scott Murray, and is maintained throughout matchdays by staff who are hand-picked for their ability to make families feel welcome. Oodles of pre-match fun and games are on offer for kids at the indoor community park, with music provided by local bands and DJs. What's more, youngsters attending their first match are awarded a signed cap by a City player.

Wonder if Geoff will be hoping the police are looking after his angels again, this time?

Or whether the brain cell containing this piece of information will be surgically removed from their grey matter like all other objectionable information seems to be?
