formerly known as ivan
Thought he was excellent against Bradford, since then I think he has been average at best. As much as I think a lot of what you say is b0ll0ks, the fact we have only kept one clean sheet so far this season would suggest that maybe he hasnt been as strong as what people think. Even rovers scored from a set piece against us! Still better than what we have had in a long time but still a lot of room for improvement which at his age is a good thing I guess. BRISTOL86
Not the finished article yet, but has great potential and is the vocal defensive orchestrator that we've not had in a long time. I think he'll only get better as the season goes on and is paired with a regular starting partner and develops that partnership.
Alex_BCFC
He has been reasonable but no more. For the goal against Rovers and Gillingham, that is the kind of ball we got him in to win.
Guest
He has bite and is not afraid to intimidate: be it fielding in goal (Bradford error) or Clarkson. I've been only too critical of our soft underbelly in recent years so for attitude alone I'm happy to see him in the team. He hasn't set the world alight granted, but he's had one game where he's not paired with an untested and undoubtedly nervous, though promising, kid, or that liability Fonts. He's also rightly going to be a bit shaky settling in to another club. No doubt he will be a piece of the jigsaw we missed and will grow into that dominant centre back, and character, we need. Very happy with him thus far.

Very happy with him thus far. Agree. I don't wet myself with nervous tension every time the opposition play a long any kind of pass like I did with Fonts! Think he's been decent so far and will improve as the season goes on. In fact, if we stay down and lose Baldock (bound to if we don't at least make the playoffs) I could see him being given the armband as he's not afraid to organise and vocalise. Manon
Like him. Yes, he isn't technically blessed and a little rough around the edges, but he's the right sort of character for us.

For the goal against Rovers and Gillingham, that is the kind of ball we got him in to win. If it's near him he'll win it you can't expect him to leave the man he's marking to do another defenders job as it will fall back on him if the guy he's marking scores

The encouraging thing is he is retweeting these messages. He seems to be enjoying it (laughing at the abuse) and I'm sure it's only firing him up for the game against those planks on the 21st. Strong characters will use those words as motivation, and although he might not be Paolo Maldini he doesn't seems short on self-confidence and bottle. RedM
Slightly different era I know but the last CB we got from Swindon wasnt so shabby was he, and Flint is only 24, about 10 years younger than Taylor was. Also the fact that he is getting so much stick from his ex fans is a good thing, if he was rubbish and they were glad to be rid they wouldn't bother so much would they. RedM
Thank you Mr OXO for reminding me, as I said I had managed to erase that memory! So on a scale where Heywood is pants and Taylor a God...Flint is definitely more Taylor-esque in my book!
