Sorey Dropped For Cunningham

I don't know how Cunningham played today but I am amazed that he got his place over Shorey against one of the best teams in the league.I thought the two Irish full backs have looked liabilities this season and Shorey really added some steel and experience .I really hope SOD is not going down the McInnes route of dropping players that play well.Poor decision

We missed Albert today. There was no width or pace, just looked clueless what to do with it going forward.

Also leaving Maloney to beat his man or get a cross in will never work. He hasn't got the pace or ability.

I would like to see the following start on Tuesday:

Shorey.....Williams....Flint.......O'connor

He was too busy putting a goal past Gerken today, with Skuse and Anderson watching helplessly.

The reason our full backs have looked crap is because we haven't got any wingers to cover them - or to the hold the ball up to allow crosses to come in. Therefore they become redundant in attack and defense.

Fair point but today Peterborough played with no wingers there was acres of space out there today and they were both awful. For me Cunningham was the worst player on the pitch today and that took some doing!0

I felt that Shorey had done enough to keep his place when you take into account that Cunningham has been under par this season, and was disappointed that Shorey was dropped. Unfortunately Cunningham then went and had an absolutely appalling game. There would have been about 10 threads on Liam Fontaine if he had made some of the mistakes that Cunningham did today.

Not that our choice of left back had any bearing on the game mind. We could have had Paulo Maldini out there and still got soundly beaten.

I'm a big fan of Cunningham, but today he should have been on the bench, very harsh to have dropped Shorey who had a good game against the Gas. Maloney has looked very exposed this season too. As others have said we thought we had the full back positions sussed. I think we do still but the system we are trying to play has let them down as they look more vulnerable in league one than in a relegated Championship side

Once again the International break has done us no favours, we probably would have been better off playing after the boost of a win against the Gas. Instead the players 'rested' and looked like they had just returned from pre-season, not up to speed at all. Yes Peterborough looked good, but mainly because we respected them too much and made them look so.
