Posh are every expert's favourite to go straight back up .We have talented youngsters who are learning and are not as consistent as seasoned pros.

I think you love it when we lose. You are like dog doings ,all over the place when the boys don't perform .

You know nothing, :mf_sleep:

Fielding 6: Spilled for the first, saved a poor Tomlin Pen, no chance with the 2nd.

Maloney 4: Skinned too easily, though JET gave him no help

Flint 5: Won everything in the air, not at fault for any of the goals, though a bit slow against this mob

O'Connor 5: Average...

Cunningham 2: Worst performance I've ever seen from him

Pack 8: My MOTM, engine in the middle, passed well, only player worth noting today in red

Reid 5: Average...

Bryan 5: Average...

Wagstaff 5: Should have scored after about 10 mins but fluffed it

JET 3: Played out on the right, did mostly **** all aside from 2 shots that nearly cleared the ATEYO (back central next game please)

Baldock 5: Nothing to feed off all game

Fielding 4 - mistake for first, superb pen save, think parish deserves a run

Maloney 2 - very poor, left on his ass for the third, I like him a lot but today was not good

Cunningham 4 - think he needs to earn the spot back, shorey looks more reliable

Oconnor 5 - tidy but part of a defence that let in 3

Flint 6 - won everything in the air, pointless hoofing annoyed me, best player IMO

Bryan 5 - played too central, no bursting wing play that has been so good to see previously

Pack 5 - only player willing to pass but bullied

Reid 4 - wasteful and he'll be disappointed with his performance, booked an subbed

JET 5 - worst game but did create a couple of chances for himself

Baldock 4 - did nothing but noone gave him a ball to feet, he's not a target man despite having to try and win long ball

Wagstaff 6 - grafted but uncreative

Subs

Harewood 4 - should have been brought on earlier

McLaughlan n/a - don't think he touched the ball

made a great low cross in from the left near the end. Nobody was able to get on the end of it

Fielding 3 - May have saved a penalty but the first goal was important and he gifted it to them. Time for Parish on Tuesday.

Maloney 4 - Poor

Cunningham 4 - Just as poor

Flint 5 - Slightly better. Still should be more threatening from our set pieces.

O'Connor 4 - Gave away pen. Looks slow.

Bryan 6 - Some good runs.

Pack 5 - Worked hard but produced little

Reid 4 - Poor. Bullied out of game and passing was way off.

Wagstaff 5 - See Pack

JET 5 - Not his day. Beat men but finishing was very bad. Unfortunately if he is not on song then no one else steps up.

Baldock 5 - Why play long balls to him. Not his fault he had little to work on. Worked hard at least.

Suppose I've just given MOTM to Bryan but was a tough one.

I wouldn't give any player over a 5.

Cunningham and Maloney were dreadful, JET and Baldock completely ineffective and wasteful, so even less for them.

Assombolonga looked far to good for this league, great shame P'Boro had the money to sign him parmanently and we didn't.

Stroll in the park for Peterbro' against a completely lacklustre City team who will quickly lose the fans if they turn in any more passionless home performances like today. Same goes for the manager, we can take defeat - we're more than used to it - but we MUST see effort and desire.

At least it was sunny in the L. Dolman, Bristol City I salute you.

Possibly right. Not Sure they look the same. And that's not a racial slur against the Irish.

79:57 Substitution

Substitution (Bristol City) makes a substitution, with Stephen McLaughlin coming on for Brendan Moloney.

87:48 Goal scored

Goal! - Britt Assombalonga - Bristol C 0 - 3 Peterboro Britt Assombalonga scores a left footed goal. Bristol City 0-3 Peterborough.

BTW in the opening minutes, Wagstaff though one on one with the last defender, no other Posh player around, Baldock in 30 yards of space to his right screaming for the pass.... and Wagstaff goes for the goal himself, fighting the defender shoulder to shoulder and ending in a poor shot - why did he not release Baldock.......

I thought O'Connor was better than that, but otherwise, yes.

Ok - my take on the game.

- Peterbrough out fought us, they were stronger than us physically, the got their shoulders in on players, arms around us, pulled us back - basically bullied us off and on the ball. Flint for every set piece was sandwiched, one player backing into him, and one behind him giving him a bear hugs with his arms around him, Flint could not even move a foot let alone jump for the ball....

- Possession - we had lot's (more so the 2nd half) but it was cross the back 4 mostly, yes I get it and if we have 100% possession then we are not going to lose games, the more possession we have the less time the opposition has to score themselves. But, we need the midfield to make themselves available for the ball, and often today we simply did not. We have possession with no attempt at a end product.

- The opening few minutes, Wagstaff though just one defender to beat - but the defender stays with him, shoulder to shoulder Wagstaff runs 20 yards and shoots from 25 yards out...... on his left was Baldock, totally free, a diagonal ball into the 40 yards of space and Sam would have had a 1 on 1 v the keeper, he might not have scored it, but it was a better and easier chance at a goal than Wagstaffs decision to go alone.

- free kicks - Peterborugh went down like whores in a brothel. They were biding for time, and free kicks - their first penalty shout was a dive (and he should have been booked) - but the law of averages dictates that you go down enough and the ref at some point will start giving you decisions... they were going down in the right places looking for a dangerous free kick. Not something I like to see, but it's a % thing. Flint as mentioned was shackled in the box - hes a big guy, why the hell did he not take advantage of this and let himself be bundled over ?

- JET, we need a plan B. He scores, he creates, assists, but he is going to have poor games at times - what are we going to do on days like that ? We need to be able to have another option for when he is off his game - we can not be reliant on just one player.

- Playing to our strengths - get a fluid game plan, one that can adapt to what is happening on the pitch and stick to it - stop just trying to counteract other teams, let them worry about us.If there is a blatant threat or they get to much joy in one area then by all means shuffle the deck - but go into the game playing our game, not the oppositions. Today our whole shape was wrong because we were playing to counter POSH and not play to our strengths.

- running with the ball, 2nd half we did more, but on the whole, we pass the ball to feet, the player is stationary, traps the ball, looks up, passes the ball - even when there is space for him to advance run into we instead play it to feet - POSH when they did have the ball moved it faster and looked threatening because they were running into space with the ball and playing the ball into space for their players.... we can do this, but today we seemed far to stationary, allowing defenders to get into positions / close us down to easily.

I think we have a decent team - they can score goals, they can pass, and at times they look class, they also at times look defensively weak. We really have to start playing for a whole game and stop having one poor / one good half which has so far happened in everyone of our games this season.

Their penalty was nailed on. O'Connor caught him - I was right in front of it.

I agree it was a penalty, but the guy went down very easily, as they did throughout. Remember enormous Barnett going down as if shot after feeling a tackle from 8-stone Bobby Reid only to spring back up and sprint off as soon as the tvat of a ref got his book out.

Posh were as nasty and cynical as I expect from any side coached by that get Ferguson.

We didn't have either the guile or the ability to match them to be honest, but unlike some here, I thought our players - other than JET - worked hard. We weren't helped both by SOD's selection - Shorey and Elliott both of whom had outstanding games on their last outings left on the bench - and his decision to play Bryan centrally, which gave us virtually no left wdth, a fact exploited over and over by their #31. Also the decision to go shit-or-bust 3-4-3 clearly backfired.

Anyway, my slightly more generous match ratings are:

Fielding - 4. Peterborough are not a side you want to gift a goal to and his spilled shot was a howler as bad as his Bradford game walkabout. Saved a penalty well, but what sort of psychological advantage did we gift them there! We had to score first to keep our noses ahead of such opposition.

Cunningham - 4. Horribly exposed for much of the match, but again below-par. Dispossessed and outrun totally for the third goal. Where has all his forward movement gone?

O'Connor - 5. Gave away the penalty, but was pretty sound and got into dangerous positions in their box during set pieces, without ever connecting it should be said...

Flint - 6. Again solid enough. Not at fault for any goals.

Moloney - 6. Didn't really do that much wrong, but vice versa could be said.

Bryan - 7: Faded slightly towards the end, but a great performance from young Joe. Won balls, tackled and brought the ball forward as much as he could within the limitations of being asked to play a strange central role. Should've been played wider to allow him to whip those crosses in. ROBBO MOTM

Pack - 6. Very busy throughout and made a couple of superb passes but was dispossessed too easily again.

Reid - 7. I thought Bob had a decent game TBH without ever threatening. Contrary to some people's perception I thought he tackled well and brought the ball forward repeatedly. Was subbed probably due to carrying an injury and having picked up a (ridiculous) yellow card.

Wagstaff - 7. I thought Waggy had a decent game and caused them problem with his pace throughout.

JET - 3. Woeful I'm afraid. Paceless, lost possession and couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. His mind seemed elsewhere.

Baldock - 5. Missed a chance with his head, but otherwise failed to time runs to get behind their big back line. TBF he didn't get the over-the-top balls he needed to do so.

Harewood - 6. Looked more of a threat than the rest of our attack, but came on too late.

McLoughlin - Didn't see enough to assess.

SOD - 3. More than anyone the manager must take responsibility for this one. He may rap on about players being on a learning process, but unless we start winning games soon we will leave ourselves with a gulf to cross just to avoid relegation. And he'll have the learning process. Learning what it's like to have the crowd turn on you and get sacked.
