redeye
Wages would be an issue I would imagine You are right about the wage. Seeing clubs like Doncaster linked when we are not compounds the reality of League One and the financial restrictions. SO'D must be frustrated losing out to Peterborough - via a 1.2 million transfer fee- for Assombalonga.

It is frustrating, but you are right to point out the reality of league 1, as I keep reading that slashing the wage bill, getting shot of expensive players, bringing in young, hungry but relatively inexperienced players as replacements - all a consequence of the financial reality of league 1 - and bedding in a new playing system are just excuses for our current situation. Bar BS3
Why do people keep saying "our connection with Moyes"..?! Apart from John Ruddy on loan for ONE GAME, when did our connections with Moyes ever provide us with some hotshot youngster during his many years with Everton..? I certainly can't remember him doing us any favours in the past, so why should he start now..?!
tts_city
because when asked recently by a fan that same question his response "ive never been asked" so why not chance it ?

I'd wager it is less about him not doing us any favours and more so us not asking, because engaging brain does not seem to be something our leadership do well. Bar BS3
We have had many players in on loan from a variety of clubs over the past few years. Why would we think to ask the likes of Spurs and not Everton/Man Utd - if Moyes was likely to accomodate our requests..?
Taylor10
Not a chance would he come here. United wouldn't let him for a start even if he wanted to!

Nogbad the Bad
We have had many players in on loan from a variety of clubs over the past few years. Why would we think to ask the likes of Spurs and not Everton/Man Utd - if Moyes was likely to accomodate our requests..? Moyes saying he's never been asked indicates he would have been/is open to the idea of loaning out players to City. Of course Moyes' affection is limited to Bristol City F.C. and the fans - very much the fans iirc - not to the likes of GJ, Millen and Del and their assistants, who presumably were either unaware of this affection and likely source of players or too bashful to put forward a request. I should hope SO'D has at least opened a line of communication with DM on the matter because we can't afford to ignore friendly, potentially very beneficial, contacts in high positions like Moyesy. Edit: Del MUST have been aware as Moyes is known to have taken part in the selection process that led to his appointment.

BCFC_Mike
Reality check needed for the OP. Getting bored of these ridiculous, unrealistic suggestions. The Billy Sharp one was bad enough, and some of our fans still think he's a realistic target!

westred1
I know. Still remember that goal aginst Villa at OT, everyone seemed to think he was the next best thing. It's the hype that's killed him and stopped his development. He scored that great goal against Villa, he was tipped for big things. It's the same with that Diouf lad they had; scored on his debut, tipped for for big things. Welbeck emerged on the scene around the same time, scored very early into his career, wasnt bigged up as much and look at him now? Man management is key; thought Fergie was meant to be an expert! Nogbad the Bad
Must have missed that Noggers, what was the story there? It was reported at the time, Woodsy, that Moyes was seen in Queen's Square on the day of Del's interview, and spoke to a City fan. I seem to remember there was a picture of him there in a suit, either taken by the fan or in the EP, can't remember for sure, but it was certainly understood at the time that Moyes' input was sought and he sat in at the interviews.
