Keep The Faith. O'Driscoll Remains The Right Man.

Having attended every home game this season, I have witnessed some of the inept and naive performances, especially in relation to defensive organisation and ability to hold on to leads. From the reaction on OTIB, it appears that Saturday has brought about a feeling that SOD has had his time and is not the right man to take the club forward. For me, this is short sighted at best and in actuality, extremely harsh.

I am well aware that we are yet to win a league game this season, but anyone attending the matches we have played will know that on more than one occasion our performances warranted victories. Furthermore, we have undoubtedly had a very tough start with the teams that we have had to play, almost all of whom will be top 10 minimum this season. The positive change that the team has made is that we are giving young local players like Reid and Bryan a sustained run in the side, something which i'm sure we all want to see and are making the transition into being a possession-based side well. True, the results haven't come yet but our ball retention is better than it has been for years and we have a side packed full of players who want the ball at their feet. That is exactly the kind of team we want to see at City.

SOD has also found a way of getting the best out of JET, which could prove to be critical. The man clearly has class, yet has failed to consistently deliver it, but with SOD giving him a freer role, he has flourished, and could well end up with 15-20 goals and around the same number of assists. This illustrates SOD's ability to get the best out of natural footballers with talent, something which many of our former managers have struggled with.

SOD's programme notes show the challenges we are facing. The average age of the side is around 23 and we are fundamentally changing the way we not only play the game, but the manner in which we conduct ourselves in all areas. This is a transition stage and if it means we only finish 12th this season then so be it - we have to believe in the long term goals of this club, and SOD is exactly the manager that can deliver this success - if we give him the time.

Tonight will see the first league win of many for us this year. Keep the faith.

I think 12th place this season would be an excellent achievement - I could see us in another relegation scrap.

To say 12th place in league one would be an excellent achievement is laughable. Can you possibly imagine us saying that under Gary Johnson (yes i am a fan of his and in my opinion the only decent manager we have had since Alan Dicks)

of course we do, but can I ask you a question please. in the incredibly slightly remote possibly that we do lose or even fail to win, where does that actually leave us?.

I think we will win but if we don't, I will still be 100% behind the project, as will all when it starts to produce success. Hopefully that success starts tonight.

I am very definately a supporter of SoD! However you are spot on with this comment....Look where he is now. He must be laughing his cock off....Players appear to have played a big part in bringing him down and this was the real start of our problems that lead to a total long overdue overhaul

Keep the faith with SoD...
