Tomo
Aged 42 - supporter since aged 6, Season Ticket Holder for over 20 odd years. Non Season Ticket Holder this year as the club introduced phase 1 ticket prices and I knew I would miss 2 to 3 games due to work, More cost effective to choose Phase 1 ticket costs rather than renewing the season ticket... However, This is the VERY 1ST LEAGUE GAME, I have decided not to attend if I can attend - I still dont know why...weather is bad, saturday was poor, some of the lads are not going, but I have attended alone previously so why am I not there ? I still asking myself - 25 years, every league game (and cup 90%) if I can go. I have probably only missed 20 games in the last 20 odd years. It feels wierd. I am BCFC MAD (the above stats prove that) - I feel let down by the club to be fair and tonight is probably a one-off stance. Look at me, We have just kicked off and I am kicking myself for not going which is mad. Why should we accept "transitional period" - Petes and Wolves are bouncing straight back up by the look of things and we (as Bristolion mugs I guess) are supposed to accept that we are re-building. Every club is re-building every single day. It's professional footy so you have to re-build, it's business. I dont blame SL completely for our decline. Afterall he is not our manager or kitting himself out as our number 9 striker. But he has to take alot of flack. Since the Hull defeat we have been in free-fall and his enthuasism appears (I state appears) to be lacking / very low compared to years gone by. Of course he is bound to annoyed / frustrated about the Ashton Vale development and Bristol as a whole. BUT - you aint gonna fill a ground - whatever ground when we are playing 3rd division football! Im missing the game already but I am sure there are 1000's of other fans that can understand my "stay away" this evening. COYR ! Tomo

Been watching for 30+ years and currently exiled 225 miles away so can't make midweek games. I miss it tonight but so angry with the way the club is run, the manager, "style" of football. Lansdown is close to taking us on a multi-million pound trip to somewhere worse than we started. He is largely responsible - oh and funnily enough not seen him on the pitch with his mic for a while.... Does he even turn up these days?

Betelgeuse
I had a season ticket for 15 years until last season where work got in the way. I was tempted to get one this year but for what ever reason, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I've been to 3 games so far and all have been crap. I could have gone tonight but the desire to be there has gone. I wish I had that enthusiasm of the whole match day experience like in the old days but sadly that's gone too. Similar, I've had a season ticket for well over 20 years without a break ( and before that POTD since 1966) last season I stopped using AL and getting favours from colleagues to swap shifts, so missed some games. I juggled the benefits of getting one this season with what I assumed would be the ease of going POTD and POTD won. As yet, I haven't made a game, work being the culprit and I find its getting easier and easier to not go - exactly as you, the enthusiasm of the whole matchday experience has waned and the standard of play on the pitch has been depressing, to say the least. The ticketing situation and the poor results aren't exactly condusive to persauding me to go out of my way and attend any time soon.

Red_Jim
I'm 27 and was a season ticket holder all through my teens. I went to 4 games last season. I've been to 0 this season. I'm not a glory hunter, I grew up in Gloucestershire with no City supporting mates - all ManUre/Liverpool or Swindle. I used to love going to the Gate, even when we were struggling in League One before Johnson took over. I now live in London and can't afford the footy much, but when I was at Uni I still went to 10-15 games a season. I could've got a train to both MK Dons and Gillingham away but backed out of both. I was going to go to Swindle on Saturday but I've decided I don't need 90 minutes of humiliation in front of all those mugs in the home end. Because, you know what's coming on Saturday, and it won't be pretty. There is more to life than BCFC but my God last night it hurt as much as it's ever done. I couldn't even bear to look at the score after half time, the humiliation of the last 18 months has reached a tipping point for me. The board couldn't run a bath, we have a manager with a long-term plan but who is completely out of touch with the supporters and a truly shocking record. I wouldn't get rid of him as it's my belief the club's problems run so deep that we are sinking fast to League Two. I'm not sure when I will next attend a City game. I texted my old man last night (a die-hard since 1963) and he wasn't at the game either. I said I was done with this football club. I don't mean that deep down, but I know I have never felt so out of love with my team. And he agreed with me. CTID, but truly distraught at the mess this club has got itself into. I admire all of you who keep stomaching it every week - you are truer supporters than me and have my respect.

I wish OUR club from top to bottom would realise how we all feel rather than keep saying "support the team" - we all support the team FFS. It was a bizarre and an unusual decision of mine not to go last night - it was my 1st ever stance but tomorrow I have too trot back down to the stadium to get my tickets for the colchester game (as e-tickets have been dropped and the introduction of these was one of the main reasons I didn't renew my ST) - FFS, we cant get anything right at the minute. 6th biggest city - and the club is ran as if we are Accrington Stanley ! You clearly feel it and clearly are hurt by what is going on. I do not subscribe to attendance = die hard. Sometimes you are right to vote with your feet and say you won't listen to me as a lone voice, listen to me withdrawing funds though, because cash is what it is all about nowadays. We could fall to the downs league and there will still be X people that turn up because 'bristol city till I die'. Are they better than those who recognise the shortcomings and say balls am I putting up with this? In my opinion, no they are not. In fact those are the dangerous kind that will let the slide happen regardless. I'm not advocating staying away at this moment, just demonstrating I appreciate some are, and why some are, and saying I think nonetheless for them doing so. That's their right of protest, and I appreciate their exercising of that right.

formerly known as ivan
I am 32 in a couple of months and had a season ticket for as long as I can remember however I have never got to the point before where going to the gate or not has been a decision I have had to make. Each week at the moment I am getting closer and closer to thinking it will be crap anyway, whats the point in going. Renewed my season ticket thinking, rightly or wrongly, we have had to put up with shit for the last few years. We are due a good season and I dont want to miss it. Likewise when this season ends and whether we go down again, stay up or even get promoted, I will most likely renew again next season in the hope that we are due a good season and I dont want to miss it. But it is fair to say that right at this moment there are a number of other things I could have spent my season ticket money on and happily not have gone to the gate this season. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
