bcfcboy96
To anyone who booed or doubted little Lee Johnson, What would we have done to have had him back last night. Anyone who thought we could ever win promotion with that central midfield is deluded. Because the difference in quality between Pack and co, and Lee Johnson is huge. Those players will now have to try and haul us up to mid-table. Johnson was our play maker when we got to the Championship Play-Off final. Johnson could find a cutting forward pass. Our current crop can pass backwards, or lump it forward. I hope seeing that last night highlighted what a great player Johnson was. That last night deserved a booing. Lee Johnson having the odd pass intercepted in the Championship did not. I think Johnson and his supporters are owed an apology.

Admin phantom Posted September 18, 2013 Admin Report Share Posted September 18, 2013 Yay, someone else to pass the ball sideways and backwards. Just what last night was missing? I knew it was something simple!
Mad Cyril
We have just about replaced that whole team now bar elliott and are on our third manager since GJ. Yet we still see the same problems up front, in midfield, in defence and in goal. Whoever we bring in we ruin. Strikers, midfielders goalkeepers and last night defenders too. Is there a secret nerve agent leaking into our dressing room????

kachina
TBF I always felt Lee Johnson got a rough ride. He is an intelligent footballer and did link up play well and he was not short of a good pass that's for sure. Sadly he was too lightweight, no good if pumping the ball up field and couldn't tackle. A lot of the good things about him is needed in a midfielder, but some of the attributes needed to be a good midfielder he didn't have. Playing for a team that pays a passing game along the floor at speed, Lee Johnson would have always been a quality asset but sadly since our promotion winning year we seem to have forgot how to play the passing game along the floor. Lee Johnson on the wing was one thing I would have liked to have seen as he always had a good cross, and a good pass, was not slow and most of the best wingers around are short and agile. However he is intelligent and that is uncommon in wingers. A player of Lee Johnson's quality is an asset in the right team, but we never played to his strengths which is sad given at the time we had 3 or 4 other similar players who like attacking football on the ground, notably Williams, Trundle and Noble. Our problem is we like to buy skillful , pacey players who have vision, however we never play football to their advantage and they become lost and disjointed, eventually slated and them disappear to another club who play to their strengths and they do well. David Noble is one of the finest and most skillful players I've ever seen, sadly he also is a bit of a waster, but I don't think we ever played his style of football and had we done that, I don't think there's any chance we would be in league one now. RedRaw
To anyone who booed or doubted little Lee Johnson,What would we have done to have had him back last night. Absolutely nothing........in general, he could not tackle, score or assist so how would have that helped last night Anyone who thought we could ever win promotion with that central midfield is deluded. I think you'll find the vast majority are not expecting promotion this season Because the difference in quality between Pack and co, and Lee Johnson is huge. Really?? Pack is 22 and has won various awards in league two, now playing in a higher league in a team struggling at present. He will come good....I really think your over-egging Johnsons ability Those players will now have to try and haul us up to mid-table. Of which they will Johnson was our play maker when we got to the Championship Play-Off final. No Johnson was in our midfield, in my eyes he was never a playmaker Johnson could find a cutting forward pass. Could he? The stats and my recollections prove otherwise Our current crop can pass backwards, or lump it forward. So you dont think Reid, Bryan, Pack, Wagstaff can play a bit? Last nights performance was poor but most games so far this season have shown that they can play good passing football without as yet getting the win. I hope seeing that last night highlighted what a great player Johnson was. Absolutely not! What it highlighted is that Bobby Reid will become a far more superior "playmaker" then Johnson ever was That last night deserved a booing. Really? Some young players, 7 games into the season, playing a new way with a new squad? What a fan you are Lee Johnson having the odd pass intercepted in the Championship did not. Ahhh selective memory! Odd pass?? what about his general lack of ability to tackle, to score goals, to assist......he was famous for side and backward passing. The exact same traits you are saying our current midfielders deserve booing for I think Johnson and his supporters are owed an apology. What a crock of sh1t! WTF has Lee Johnson got to do with any of this? Shall we start slating Baldock for not scoring as many goals as John Ateyo or boo Wagstaff "cus he aint no murray"
