Admin Ian M Posted January 20, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 use chrome to access BBC website having installed the "hola" extension. (search "hola extension chrome" on Google and install from the search results). This gives you a button at the top that if you encounter territory specific web content you click this button & it allows you to spoof an ip address from the country you need to be in. It's very simple but effective & I've used it myself to watch extra content on US tv websites.

If on Android or iOS, download the tvcatchup app (free on android, don't know about iOS) Despite the name it isn't a catchup service, it broadcasts freeview channels in decent quality. Hi, I'm living in Manila and will certainly go out to watch it in a pub ( kick off 10pm) but if I did want to watch it at home, are you sure this works ? VPNs don't work on live UK TV as watching on the internet is considered the same as watching on a TV set and you have to pay the yearly license fee. REDOXO
Thanks for the info Guys...The Chicago branch is truly grateful! I will get going on all the stuff mentioned. For the record the WHU game kicks off at 8am here and the Gillingham game is 1:45pm. However I am travelling the Gillingham day so buggered for that one! VPNs don't work on live UK TV as watching on the internet is considered the same as watching on a TV set and you have to pay the yearly license fee. When using expat shield or hotspot shield you can get around this by entering a valid UK postcode when prompted by bbc iPlayer. I use my old postcode from when I lived back in Staple Hill. Used in many times to watch live programming
Mad Cyril
I use it all time and not just for football. I just did an Internet search on "private viewing on PC - hola extension'. This took me to a series of discusting and depraved websites. Looking back I may have had a small typo in the search box. I wish I had typed this a bit more carefully as this would have saved me several hours of my afternoon and a credit card bill I dread arriving. We use Tunnel Bear here, and it works fine, just cross your fingers on one hand behind your back as you click the mouse with the other hand, confirming you have a TV license. WayOutWest
In Canada its being broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet World. 5.30am Pacific Time. I use a VPN/Proxy server from http://scothosts.com/proxy.html It does cost around 6.99 GBP per month, but its fast and I have rarely had any issues with it. Works great on iPad/Android. Its great for listening to Talksport/Absolute Radio. You can switch between VPN and Proxy on the fly. Cheers Stevo
