Ok we were shocking but Have to say they were by far the best team I have seen this season. Won with ease and never got out of first gear. Not many teams limit us to pretty much no goal attempts and they looked a threat all afternoon. Will be around the playoffs or higher come May based on that today.

No, we were just absolutely terrible!

Hopefully it will be the kick up the jacksy we need to get the results some of our play has deserved this season.

This is where you work out which side of the fence you stand. Were Reading that good, or were we that poor. Truth is, somewhere inbetween. Undoubtedly, we were poor but any decent champ side should close the game out from 2-0 up. For me, it's 60% us poor, 40% them good. Prepared to be shot down though

obviously a bit of both, we never looked like scoring which is rare for us and they looked capable at any time. Give credit to the opposition they outclassed us.

I did say we were rubbish.

Yes, sorry. it's very difficult to put what I want in a post with this awful "upgrade" (upgrade my arse! ) hehe.

i jyst end up leaving it as it is.

As you say I thought Reading were pretty good, but I'd be willing to bet their not the division beaters we made them look yesterday. I really cannot stress enough how poor I thought not only the team played, but Cotts also had an off day tactically.

Lets hope it was just an off day, and our results haven't destroyed our confidence. Not sure 3games in a week should tire us that much this early in the sseason,  as Cotts said to be honest!

They were far too good for us but, for me, ruined any respect I would have given them, by diving at every opportunity, the verbal bullying of the match officials and like every other club that has come to The Gate this season, incessant time wasting.

It would also be nice to see a ref who did not fall for all the diving but that is a pipedream.

I hope we get street wise like that. I know it's not pretty but this league is a fight. I hope we learn "tricks" like that to see out games.

Problem is we have to get our noses in front first before we can start grinding down the clock.

We are getting caught time, and time again with quick breaks. I like what Cotts has done so-far with us, but this really needs addressing quickly.

At times we are too nieve and open at this level - in my opinion.

I love watching our attacking football, but theres a big difference between attatcking football and kamakasi football.

And talking of Kamikaze from Suckie's post and in view of ex punk band member, Neil Worthington, passing away in Cuba maybe we need to play a few songs from Disorder's 2005 album entitled.. 'Kamikaze'.

Considered by allmusic's Stewart Mason "as brash and invigorating as any of Disorder's earlier releases".

That should get the players in an aggressively cantankerous mood ready to steam roller themselves to victory.. well we need some sort of inspiration no?

Especially as every championship side were in the same boat.

Another pointless cotterill comment.

Reading completely dominated the game from start to finish, we looked very poor and players playing out of position looked lost. Too open, too predictable and things need to change quickly.

On a side note - reading fans - for a side who were so in control, very poor. Quiet even.

I thought they sounded quite good at times, the only thing I heard from us was the crap shit referee song.

Yep best team we've played by far this season. I thought they worked hard and never gave us much opportunity to get the ball down and play, their midfield was very mobile, strong and very good technically, i particularly liked Williams for reading.

One thing that stood out for me yesterday was when Bryan had a little altercation with a Reading player, i think they got into a bit of a tangle but the Reading player got up marched Bryan down, you might say fair play to Bryan for not getting involved but i would of liked him to stand up to him to show the Reading player that he's not to be messed with! I don't think i can blame Joey for not getting involved but i would of liked to have seen him or one of his team mates backing him up....he wouldn't of got away with that if we had players like Carey, Orr, Doherty, Galliers, Gow etc.

Reading are a complete squad and I've got them pegged for a playoff spot. We were poor but they were quality. They were willing to spend and take chances and pay wages on proven players. That should've been what we were doing this summer. They finished about 20th last season and got all that quality. We should've been more appealing than Reading but look at their squad to ours and that's why we didn't look very good.
